Maybe they just deleted certain posts to potentially cover their tracks if questioned about something ie staked addresses or posts in a different language.

I don't think it's price manipulation either but just how they're going about (likely) trying to scam.

Some accounts I have spotted the activity does not match posting history indicating deleted posts.

The examples in the IOTA thread seem suspicious due to the concentration of strange accounts all in one thread, possible attempt at price manipulation or fake thread bumping.

What do you mean with history deleted? Those are probably just accounts that were created and never made any posts.  Not sure why the hacker bothers to try use them to scam though as opposed to just fresh newbie accounts.
