If you're using the Blockchain.info wallet I'm pretty sure they're sending out backup via email when you register.

Is there no way to retrieve bitcoins from an online wallet on a web page that's not accessible if I have the adress to the wallet? The wallet was not stored on on the computer. And I know people have used PyWallet to recover bitcoins from an adress that was saved locally, but is there really NO way to retrieve bitcoins from an online wallet?

If it's a "wallet" such as https://blockchain.info/wallet , then you can retrieve the private keys from a backup (assuming you created a backup of the wallet).

If is's an "account" such as inputs.io, then there is nothing you can do, since you never owned the bitcoins in the first place. They were owned by the entity that provided you with the account.
