Personally, we, young people, are not attracted to it, but we understand you and your nostalgia

I have Sega mega drive 16 bit and I run it from time to time. So I'm for retro gaming. But should a new audience get acquainted with these games? I suppose not in most cases. Because let's be honest a lot of old games are painful to play. Graphics, controls. Nostalgia helps us a lot. Yeah, modern games sometimes really painful too. All these indie are produced in so big numbers with low quality that I'm speechless. yeah, there are exceptions, like, Super Bunny Man. But still, it's hard to pick an interesting one.

I'm plaing now Battletoads on my NES emulator. It's hard as hell

emulators man; its not the complete experience.. I don't know why.. I know its the rom in software.. but I feel cheated by the emulator experience.. I also think the 25mhz to 50mhz clock speeds which were a crystal on the motherboard isn't replicated truly in emulation...

maybe its just me..  Grin

I was really tempted to buy a Family Computer I found in a flea market in Japan. It was in very good condition too. It was just too bulky to bring back home. It should have been fun to reminisce using the very thing and not just an emulator. It was simple back then but it was fun.
Now, we have VR gaming, full immersion feels. There also seems to be an update / upgrade just about every month. I would have been mindblown if I had toys that we have right now.

Akihabara is a great market place for buying those things, and yes I think they generally are well looked after machines.. Ive wanted to get a NEO GEO from there but the problem is I would need some kinda step-down voltage converter as its the Japanese market.. Sad

It seems to be all the vogue right now to want to play older retro consoles, I myself miss my NEO GEO MVS, Sam Coupe sinclair, C64, CPS2 arcade boards.

I wonder if anybody else here is reminiscing on the old gaming machines of this period.. what is it that draws is to them.. is it a simpler time in our lives?
