I was talking about the stuff around the box.
Maybe a shade of a color instead?
Hex: 2f2f2f
Use that as a background color, and mix it with some other colors.

Lots of blank space on the page (and not judging on looks, just usability).
The whitespace was left there intentionally.
The theory is that people will click on an item to fill the whitespace. That is the theory anyway.
P.S. The beta page has only been tested on Chrome and Firefox :-)

Search Bitcoin is committed to helping people find merchandise and services available in the bitcoin community. To that end, we are working on a new homepage.
The homepage is in beta, and no attention has thus far been spent on graphics. That said, the beta page is nearly fully functional.
