Evil beware: We have waffles!
Appreciate the update and review even it was about a year ago, good guide. However need to ask from the photos what were the readings pointing to as there were no unit on power meter...

Especially like to know the efficiency mode, or list out the power Kw for each mode. What is the actual drawn power KW?

Thank you very much.

That is all covered in the main Dragonmint thread https://bitcointalksearch.org/topic/m.25021439.

Alright I can live with that, no bad blood. I will make the change Wink .

In my experience most people like to read the original manual first, I couldn't think of anything I could've added to what information is already given in there.
I didn't got confronted with problems doing the configuration. But I am always open for advise & tips on what people like to see or have questions about.

I'm not offended.

It's just that usually if one posts a guide, it is made by him and it is not just a official guide which in most cases actually lack some of the useful information.

I mean it wouldn't make sense if for example I make a review/guide documentation for some Antminer model
and then I would just give a link to Bitmain website so you are able to download their user guide .pdf document.  Huh

@NotFuzzyWarm : I can understand why you think that but I am more of the reading type.
I use Bitcointalk for years now and most of the the time, I found what I needed without the need to post other questions.
With this review I thought to do something back for the forum that helped me many times when I had some complications with GPU mining or needed Info on a new coin.
If you checked the link on top of my post you could see in the pictures that I did not cherrypick results or formed a biased opinion about the results.
I tell my experiences nothing more nothing less. I contacted them early on in december on their twitter account because that channel of communication looked the most active.

I refuse to lie about my experience because other people have had some problems.  If it would be PR it would look different and would be more cherrypicked results.

@HagssFIN: The review includes a section "Links" their you can find a Pdf-manual and a Instruction movie. I don't think any extra info is needed as guide to get this miner configured.
I sincerely apologies for using your Tittle formatting but I thought it was board policy to make things easy to navigate.  I am prepared to change it if you are offended by it.
Personally I Think it is a good format and it would make a improvement for the board.

Thanks for the welcome  Shocked

Okay so you copied my title formatting,
but I don't see how this thread is a guide? Huh

If someone can tell me why the pictures don't show and only the links are visible... I can't get them to show.

Perhaps try reading the Rules of the Forum to find out what you can do here and when. You are brand new with zero activity history. You must earn the right to post different things.

Frankly ^^ reads almost exactly many other PR releases put out by Halong themselves with the one difference being you did point out a few of its warts. Kudos for not glossing over the power concerns.

You said:

I got in contact with the people of Halong and they answered all the questions I had at that moment.  I can only speak from my experiences but communication was a true pleasure, fast and friendly.

Oddly very different response than ANY Forum member with long term cred got from Halong when they announced this machine last November. All anyone got from them was the sound of crickets. That is until these mysterious new members showed up with glowing comments about Halong and how unfair we are to not just trust them.

(Review with clear pictures can be found @ https://cryptoneutronium.wordpress.com)

First a small intro about me:

I live in Europe and had some previous experiences in Bitcoin mining. I mined In the earlier days of
Bitcoin in the year 2014 and really enjoyed the experience. I am a true believer of Bitcoin, crypto  and blockchain technolgy. So in the last years I stayed informed and started mining again with GPU’s.
I was looking around for ASIC-miners (SHA-256) but outside of Bitmain there was not really anything new. Until I found the website of Halong mining with their Dragonmint T1 (16  Th/s).
After searching  the web I didn’t find much info because they just started their company. So I decided to try and contact them to get some decent info and get in on that ASIC-miner.
I got in contact with the people of Halong and they answered all the questions I had at that moment.  I can only speak from my experiences but communication was a true pleasure, fast and friendly.
A few months later, I received a shipping notification from DHL  and only 5 days later it was delivered on my doorstep. At this moment I have the Dragonmint T1 running for 10 days.

Review Halong Mining Dragonmint T1 16 TH/s:

I run the Dragonmint T1 with a Myrig power supply 1600Watt, also delivered by Halong Mining.
In the past 10 days I ran every firmware update available for the T1 and my findings are based on the t1_20180418_054846.swu firmware. Currently I am running the newer  t1_20180421_081246.swu firmware.
If there are big differences in performance I will post these on a later date.
The build quality of this miner is good to excellent and is very easy to connect and configure. The GUI (Graphical Users Interface) is self explaining with a good overview of total hashrate and hashrate by board.
This information is also displayed on a graph. The temps of the hashboards are visible in the GUI but they are not displayed on a graph, I would like to see this in later firmware versions.
The miner was configured to mine to Slushpool because this pool supports ASIC-boost and was advised by the people of Halong Mining.
The T1 has 3 performance options: Efficiency , Balanced and Performance.

Results & my experience with the Dragonmint T1

I ran the Dragonmint T1 on each of the 3 performance modes  for a decent time.
I need to be honest and tell that when I put it on performance It delivered better Hashrates but it was less efficient  in power use and the fan was always on 100%.
Also I personally don’t like the PSU pulling 1760 Watt from the wall, considering this PSU is rated 1600 Watt I didn’t kept it on performance mode.
If I had a 2000Watt PSU I probally would. (Running a PSU almost at max capacity will make it less efficient )
I prefer Balanced mode and think it is the best option, Efficiency mode does what is says and keeps the fan below 55%.

If there are any questions I will try to answer them. This is my experience with the miner and with the people of Halong Mining. I am happy with the results and with the way things went.

Thanks to the people of Halong mining for bringing new hardware0.
Also I need to mention special thanks to Scott Offord! He is the first person I got in contact with, and he is very trustworthy and willing to help in anyway possible.
