Adjusting the denomination of Bitcoin could significantly improve its market perception, making it more attractive and accessible to

Adjusting the denomination of Bitcoin? That is pretty silly idea if you ask me. Whats wrong with mBTC?

Bitcoin is is designed to be deflationary, with a limited supply. Not something governments can just print more of whenever they feel like it. If we go messing with denominations now, even for practical reasons doesnt that defeat the purpose in a way?

Besides, have you even taken into account the negative sides of such an action? What would be the market perception if some shitcoin, like BCH, became more valuable per unit than real Bitcoin?

Proposal for Bitcoin Denomination Adjustment

Overview

The aim of this proposal is to introduce a denomination adjustment in Bitcoin (BTC) to enhance its adoption and market perception. By adjusting the unit of account, we aim to make Bitcoin more accessible to new users and investors by addressing psychological barriers associated with the current high unit price of a single Bitcoin.

Rationale

Bitcoin’s current price per unit can be perceived as a barrier to entry for potential investors. By increasing the total number of divisible units, we can lower the unit price, making Bitcoin appear more affordable and appealing, thus encouraging wider adoption.

Proposed Adjustment

   •   Current Supply: 21 million BTC.
   •   New Denomination: Increase the total supply by a factor of 1,000.
   •   Resulting Unit Price: Approximately $70 per unit (based on current prices).

Implementation

This change would require a consensus within the Bitcoin community, starting with a formal Bitcoin Improvement Proposal (BIP). This proposal seeks to open a dialogue among developers, miners, and users to explore the feasibility and implications of such an adjustment.

Conclusion

Adjusting the denomination of Bitcoin could significantly improve its market perception, making it more attractive and accessible to
