I have 10 GPUs running in our linux rigs. Will post an announcement soon as I will put them up for sale, but you can contact me if you want to know how its done.

It is non very clever idea to use many cards in one rig. If single gpu crash then entire rig may crash. From my opinion 3-4 cards per rig is optimum.

Just Don't. Getting 6 cards running is enough.

ICO? Not even once.
I was thinking about doing this just for the challenge (with nvidia in windows) and I also like the idea of it but I decided no to even try because it's very impractical and it would cost more than 6-card rigs.

Basically, the only things that you would save money on is the motherboard (which is relatively cheap), HDD/SSD (even cheaper) and windows if you were to use that.

On everything else you'd have to spend about the same amount of money (per card) as you would for 6-card rigs because from experience RAM and CPU pretty much has to scale with the number of cards if you want to be able to comfortably mine all algos without running into bottlenecks and you'd also need risers, more PSUs and of course the splitters and so on.

And even if you'd get it to work but let's say it would randomly freeze or something else, good luck figuring it out without going insane. Sometimes that's pretty annoying even for 6-card rigs.

I use 8GPU in a system, 2x7990 + 4x390. there is no difference if I use 4GB or 8 GB memory. I need more PSU though.

Dual GPUs are completely different from physically separate GPUs though. Like duals using the same PCI lanes to begin with.

so I think computer motherboard, BIOS, windows system is not the problem,
it can more than 13 gpus,
AMD drivers should be restricted work
I think the key issue is the AMD drivers
I remember a rumor about splitting PCI lanes between virtual machines, so the work was done BELOW driver level.

man think about this for a moment, one new rig cost only to you $200 for the "unnecessary parts that don't mine" that you want to remove by using splitter so you can do 12 gpu rig instead of doing 2 rig with six each

are you sure that saving 250 is enough to cover the expenditure for adding pcie splitter on the only rig you want to run?

remember that psu are needed anyway, riser are needed anyway, other components(MB, CPU, RAM, SSD) like i said cost only $200 or even lower...not worth it sitck with six gpu rig

Only if the machine never goes down - and with all your cards on one machine, it goes down at all you lose ALL your hash.

That's not even factoring in the pain of getting such a machine built in the first place, the higher costs of building such a machine and getting everything coordinated, and getting it to even start mining at all.

It's a limit of the AMD drivers - which are NOT used to run non-AMD video devices, so trying to count your Intel and NVidia cards into the total is a false argument.

Why do you want to run that crazy number of cards on one machine in the first place?

Why not..

Better w/h ratio ..

Reward 1BTC , Let AMD drivers work more than 8 gpus

Now works 8gpus in win7 with amd driver 15.12, work is good

I want to make win7 work 18GPUS

But when the NO.9 Gpu card is installed,After entering the operating system, AMD driver is loaded, the system blue screen

In safe mode ,Disable NO.9 GPU card after return to normal

I've tried to work 1 intel gpu + 4 nvdia gpus +8 amd gpus,

so I think computer motherboard, BIOS, windows system is not the problem,

it can more than 13 gpus,

AMD drivers should be restricted work

I think the key issue is the AMD drivers

This problem has troubled me for a long time,

I would like to reward 1BTC solve this problem

hope to get your help
