Thanks for the feedback. For now we have hidden them by default. We like the idea of adding the days onto the ROI but a lot of these pre-orders are incredibly vague with their target delivery dates.

I think we will end up breaking pre-orders out into their own tab with a strong warning for novice miners.

It is funny to see pre-orders though that are already being out performed by hardware that is currently available... I had the pleasure of showing an executive at Cointerra how their pre-order cloud products are already not competitive... priceless moment :-)

If you really have to show pre-orders, than you should  change the way you display ROI days for a pre-order. You should count the number of days from "now" until the anticipated delivery. For example, the AIRE Miner is supposed to be available Q1 2015, taking into account the history of pre-orders this will (hopefully) happen in april 2015 ... that would make the ROI for this miner "180 + 140" days (180 days to wait until shipping starts and then another 140 days until you reach actual ROI  ... this numbers are as of today ... and keep the numbers separate). Pre-orders are especially dangerous for newbies, therefore you will do a great favor to them if you'll display a bit more conservative information for pre-orders (or just remove them all together).

Just don't put them in (pre-orders).  Doesn't make sense to.

Mining Hardware Comparison should only be hardware "in hand".  When consumer reports or cnet or a reviewer review or rate an item, it's always things they can test drive and actually use, not theoretical products.

Just exclude them altogether, no need to even give potential customers the choice.  Do the community a solid.

Pre-orders are a hard thing to deal with since they don't really fit in the list but at the same time they are options we want to display the numbers for. You can currently use the checkbox filters at the top of the list to hide them.

Maybe they should be hidden by default? Any ideas on how to display the pre-orders are welcome, but we definitely think they should be displayed somewhere... maybe on their own tab?

Very good idea I would have hidden by default.  It just sets some false hope with certain ones.  Pre-orders are a gamble some great but a lot sadly have not lived up to promises and why most avoid.

Agreed. They should be hidden by default, and enabling them should come with a warning about the risks of pre-ordering. IMO.

You're ranking preorders and in hand hardware on the same scale, doesn't make much sense.

I agree preorders throw off everything.  Should not include the preorders.

Roi should be true roi!

Asic miner tube & prisma are missing and they are there at the top!

Antminer c1 it's missing the cooling, and it can not mine stand alone like the rest of the miners without cooling!!!

Without energy cost, added in the calculation, it's like comparing apples to oranges!

We've been working on scraping and curating mining hardware data for the past 4 months and would love you feedback. The site is still very much in beta, but we are doing our best to create a useful reference.

Couple things to note:

- The "ROI" isn't true return on investment... we calculate it with static conditions simply to rank the miners against each other. We will be adding non-static calc options as the site progresses.

- Power consumption listed is based on the information on the hardware site and may not be actual "at-the-wall" performance.

If we've missed a vendor or manufacturer that has a website we can scrape please let us know.
