£50 million + of tax-payers money wasted on this bullshit, cant imagine ISIS invading Wales any time soon   Roll Eyes

"9ft-high metal fence running for 12 miles"...makes you wonder what the politicians are afraid of.

I was going to ask how much they spent on this. Absolutly ridiculous. It's also scary how quickly they can spring this up. The UK also just laughably updated the terror threat from "substantial" to "severe" for no reason at all http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-28986271

Yeah looks like the UK gov is ramping up the scaremongering.

Wont be long til they take away more civil liberties, all in the name of national security Smiley

I read that Saudi Arabia issued a warning that islamic terrorism is going to spread all over Europe in one month and over USA in two months

Stating like the terrorist group is more competent than the Europe and US government.

I like to see them actually getting it done than just speaking out loud.

What if we locked them in and let the regular folks out?

Sounds like a fantastic idea, we just need to get the police on our side or find a way round them, maybe lock the police in with the politicians?

Those fuckers better not try pulling this shit in MY town and I hate living here! lol! I'll probably end up making an alliance with all the chavs and crazies to take them down, this reminds me of a school I was in where they had fences that high and they were clearly there to just trap everyone inside, in fact I think they were higher, definitely made me think it was a prison.

p.s. Definitely going to Japan now, this country is starting to look like the V for Vendetta movie which I only recently watched Tongue

They did pick one of the better locations for their purposes, being a smaller area off the beaten path so to speak.

Nicely design to keep the local unaware of what is going on.

There don't seem to have any slight resistance from the population from the video.

‘Ring of steel’: NATO summit turns Welsh cities into massive open-air prisons
http://rt.com/uk/183348-nato-summit-fence-lockdown/

Quote
A “ring of steel” likened to a prison or the Berlin Wall has been erected around the NATO Summit venues in Newport and Cardiff city center ahead of the military alliance’s conference next week.

Ten miles of nine-foot high security fencing has been set up to protect world leaders attending the September 4-5 conference amid fears issued by former foreign office minister Kim Howells of a possible attack by Islamic extremists.

Some reader comments hit the nail on the head:

What are they frightened of ?, ISIS ?, Al Qaeda ?, the IRA ?, Russian or Chinese spies maybe ?.
NO, they`re frightened of the British public, we know America is using NATO to start another war, and we won`t have it !!!!!.

Isn't this shameful! If they haven't done anything wrong and they've done their homework why so frightened?

Nigel Hedley 28.08.2014 19:32

. . . this is insane! NATO has a headquarters in Brussels . . . why can't the meeting be held there? what is the point of an HQ if you don't use it . . . they would never consider holding a meeting of the General Assembly of the UN any where else than the UN in New York . . . (actually they did once, in Central Methodist Hall in London . . . but that was before they had their own building!!

Well as they are most likely discussing the next false flag operation, which they are hoping will kick start world war 3, they need such security. Can't let that info get out now can they?
