He did this standup scene where a drunk Scottish man invents golf.....it's the funniest thing I've ever heard. He was the real deal. We really need to find a real way to deal with depression, because the drugs/therapy we have now is not working. RIP

Just want to add my RIP Robin Williams to this thread.

There was something about the guy that was genuine, intelligent and compassionate. Of course, I never knew the bloke personally, but his roles in both "Dead Poets Society" and "Good Will Hunting" meant that when I heard the news this morning I left the house for work still wiping the remnants of tears from my eyes.

Too bad, I did not expect to see that he died.  Often it seems like some of the greatest minds, at whatever they focus on, are depressed but they work hard at what they do to escape their depression.

Let it be a lesson, even if it doesn't look like a co-worker or family member needs help, they might, so check in with them , really really check in.

Disappointing. It seems all the great comics are either dead or on their way out. I'll go out on a limb and say Louis CK is the youngest great remaining, remembering he already has one foot out the door. Not sure if they set the bar too high or if we're just a failing generation.

If Robin offed himself then I can't really give him a whole lot of sympathy unless he was dying from a terminal disease. I never could understand how a person who has practically everything in life could just decide to check out one day because life is just so depressing. I guess the rest of us who live in the real world are just too busy trying to make ends meet while our government picks our pockets and lies to us to become drug addicted and depressed.
However this seems to happen all the time among the Hollywood elites, musicians, and other famous people who kill themselves with drugs and alcohol. Could it be their guilt of becoming rich and receiving accolades, adulation, awards, and trophies for doing nothing more than entertaining us? Maybe Robin just came to the realization that even Honey Booboo and Si Robinson are capable of entertaining the ignorant masses. I will leave the celebrity worship to the rest of you because I look up to a different caliber of individual.

I never could understand the psychology of celebrity worship. I have far more sympathy for those who actually sacrificed something for us all like our military veterans. You know, the ones who we put on medical waiting lists while they die. I mean, who here wouldn't trade places with Robin relative to them who sacrificed so much. I just heard Larry King on Fox say Robin gave us a gift we could never repay and I wanted to gag.

So sorry to hear this, he has brought so many fond memories. I cannot accept he committed suicide, it could be drug overdose but I doubt he would ever give up even in this life. Hard to say what my favorite Robin Williams role was. Probably Mrs. Doubtfire. What a huge loss.....
I'd say those early days of Mork and Mindy. But that was a good movie. Patch Adams was good too.My favorite bit by Robin is when he explains how the game of Golf was conceived/developed. It's absolutely "wet your pants funny."
Robin was a devout liberal and no doubt supported Obama...twice. It may very well be that the failures of Obama...and consequently the failures of our country contributed to Robin's depression. It's possible. He was good in 'Good Will Hunting' also.

Sadly it is often the funniest people who are secretly suffering the most and take their lives like this or in similar fashion. If you look at the comedy world there is a very big history of suicides, drug overdoses and other preventable deaths like Chris Farley, Greg Giraldo, Robin Williams to name a just a few of the many on the list. RIP Robin and sympathies to your family. Its sad more people can't see the pain and depression hiding behind people's comedy facades.

Depends on the strain but maybe yeah who knows.  Im in the UK and cant wait until many strains are readily available in medical grade quality because i want to test it out for a variety of things.  Yes i can grow it myself or buy it but its not the same relaxing way to get your medicine.

Might be murder, staged as suicide as well.

highly unlikely. he has had a history of depression and recently checked himself into a clinic. most likely, the weight of living was too heavy for him.

Good time to stage a murder as a suicide.

who planned it? maybe jay-z and the illuminati? this is the kind of theory that actor_tom_truong is down with.

Might be murder, staged as suicide as well.

highly unlikely. he has had a history of depression and recently checked himself into a clinic. most likely, the weight of living was too heavy for him.
