Currently the rippex wallet is closed. Some people think they lost their coins.. Here is a full instruction on how to restore your coins:

I am mining some ripples and now I want to withdraw. I don't to withdraw to an exchange as I don't know what happens to an exchange and it is not a safe practice to keep your coins in any exchange. I want to download Rippex a desktop Ripple wallet but don't know if it is good and safe to download. I have heard a lot of things that if you install certain obscure altcoin wallets maybe your bitcoin wallet gets compromised.
I think The Cryptonator and Coin payment batter then Rippex XRP wallet.

just want to know if Rippex is the official wallet of Ripple ? and is it safe ? i mean i don't have much ripple but i want  whatever i have to be in a safe wallet and not a third party wallet. Have anyone of you used it and if yes, then can i have your reviews plz

Ripple doesn't have official wallet
There are several wallets to keep ripple and one of them Rippex (based in Brazil) -fully open source and available for all platforms.
In my opinion, it is good enough for storing small amount deposits.

If you have a good amount i recommand you an hardware Ledger Nano S , its the best thing you can do in long term. However, if you want to use rippex wallet, is also good.

I haven't used Rippex, but if you are a fan of browser wallets with private keys in your hands, then you can try toastwallet.com.
As for Rippex, it is not the official wallet. In fact they are now closing down their operations. https://twitter.com/RippexNet/status/959531724433690624
If you had an account on Rippex, then better export your private keys on another wallet, just to be sure!!
Also do know that Ripple wallets reserve 20 Ripples for account creation. They are not free. So if you have very less Ripple, then it is better to leave them on a trusted exchange.

Yeah it is possible that if you download desktop wallets, your bitcoin wallet may be compromised and these issues aren't strange because i have read news about happining such cases before. I would suggest to use coinpayments web wallet for altcoins storeage, it supports 140+ altcoin currencies.
You can set 2FA also for more security, find direct link to coinpayments in my signature

There are better options if you want to hold your ripples, but why are you holding them? there are better sources to increase your portfolio instead of ripple, you are only going to hold them for years to watch them rising from $0,20 to $0,225 at least, it is not worth it.
just use that money to buy bitcoins, or any other crypto who is rising more quickly than ripple, that it got stucked on $0,20 for more than a month.
but yes, rippex is a good wallet..

Man, and here you was truly very wrong..

I’m sure you want to shoot yourself in the foot now for that comment you made back in November you clearly have no idea what Ripple is and what is going to happen in 2018. Hopefully you still own some Ripple if you bought at around $0.20 cents. Happy new year!

Haha..best comment ever! Happy new year!

It is a great wallet, you can use. BTW it looks like some big whales are stoking up ripple. There is some volume but the price doesn't change. Is there any news coming up? I think before the fork is too difficult to bet in some alt because most are pump and dump. But ripple is really low if you look to the past.

After reading some reviews in google together with your help I have decided to go for it. It is open source so if it was some problem it would have been spot from other users. I have not big amount myself but this coin I think has potential to increase so I am holding some and want to hold on my desktop not exchanges.

Yes looks like rippex is the official wallet for ripple but I haven't stored any of my ripple out of exchange wallets as they are not in quite big amount.
You can look at discussion about different wallets for ripple in their reddit channel here
https://www.reddit.com/r/Ripple/

Found this guide on how to make cold wallet for ripple using rippex, this might help you too https://www.xrpchat.com/topic/1217-desktop-wallet-creating-cold-wallets/
