XRP>BTC flipping will only happen when the decoupling will take place. There is no any chance of taking over the BTC until cryptos will be traded directly with USD and other fiat currencies pairs.

How can something take over Bitcoin if the community rejects it (centralized, premined) and the only ones who uses it are banks which the communiy rejects even more. This is really a retarded thougt...

Strange that ripple isn't going rapidly up when there are news about banks already testing them though. But most probably those bankers are going to expect a lot of pumping when times comes. When all of a sudden these banks are going to announce  they are already into it, we may find it too late to ride on the pump which is why I'm still hopeful XRP will bring more profit in my wallet like it did last year.

What is this happening, does someone pumping Ripple?
For a long time I did not laugh like that. What is ripple and what is bitcoin, I'm talking about ripple generally do not want to know their policies and what they do for ordinary investors.

It won't happen. Ripple get pumped and then dumped so hard that it can't even be stable. Bitcoin will remain the first for a long period of time.
Think XRP can replace Bitcoin is a very ridiculous thing and I think it can not happen in the market cryptocurrency. Bitcoin is getting more and more support from investors as the cryptocurrency market is a strong investment trend during this time. I see the future of the market very well developed.

The banking, centralized coin will not take over bitcoin. And if it miraculously does, it will be an embarrassment to the cryptocurrency community as a whole, considering the original purpose of cryptocurrency.

Oh really? You're gonna need more time for that to happened man... Obviously, traders holding bitcoin will not allow that to happened because BTC is too much precious for them to dump and beat by other altcoins.

Guess what...rich people couldn't care less about vehicle that drives them to even bigger wealth...if Dogecoin can do it for them,
they'll use it

This will not happen, Ripple will not take over bitcoin because lots of people don’t want to invest on a pure hype coin. Big investors of bitcoin will not let this things to happen specially with xrp that is centralized.

If you think like that, I'm surprised you support ICO in your sig...ICOs by definition sell you 100% premined coins

This pure hype coin is working with several banks. They are transfering money round the globe with ripples technology. Ripple has several real usecases in the world economy, is working together with big companies. And Ripple labs are working hard on decentralisation.
Compared with that, what is BTC's value?
It is hype.
Driven by a handfull miners.
Nothing is decentralized with BTC. And what this coin does, can other coins do better.

So please don't try to make your religion look like true facts. They aren't.

I do not think it will happen may ripple may goes to 1000 rank but it will never be a competition for the bitcoin and its investors. Already as I noticed that ripple seems holded 80 percent of the amount by its owner alone and when they want to make ripple bump he release some coins on exchange and buy back it. These kind of coins are not to take as a debate as well.

I believe that sooner or later bitcoin will go away in history. Exchange will be created, on which it will be possible to change tokens into tokens, without binding to ether or bitcoin.
maybe it could happen. but not this year because now bitcoin is still in altcoin control, in the next few years it could happen. because in the world of cryptocurrency a lot of surprises. but bitcoin remains a valuable coin.

Bitcoin will remain and ripple will never take over. If it does crypto is dead.

Crypto is dead if it forever stays hostage to BTC...we need healthy market where every crypto is valued
because of its technology and innovation, and not BTC pump and dump, which is centralized and in
control of few whales

Honestly, it's very difficult that your opinion ( idea) will be achieved in the near future, despite that Ripple (XRP) has a high value of Market cap and their price is low  ( $ 0,94 ) compared to other currnencie, but in reality,  Bitcoin exceeds all currencies in everything ( Price, value of market cap, Volume...) and at the  last  all years.
On the other hand, Why the value of market cap (Ripple) is too big ?
Simply, this digital currency was created by the governments (through many big banks). As well, their goal was to destroy Bitcoin. That's why the value of this currency is huge.
But in my opinion, I do not expect that Ripple or other currency will take the place of the king Bitcoin at the top of the market.

You're contradicting yourself several times in one post

Sure Ripple way  faster, cheaper, and backed up by the banker, but Bitcoin adoption is worldwide now, and if you see the market cap growth in last year, seems like no anykind of investment / asset will be able to do it like bitcoin

To overtake Bitcoin, Ripple is unlikely to succeed in the near future, but that does not mean that its technology would not be interesting to the banking system.  Structural business model XRP needs to bring successful development of the company and good profit.

The developer of Ripple has doing some partnership to gain some momentum to their coins. That could be their alternative solution for them to stay on track as they are left behind after those $3 price. Hope to see ripple doing a bull run soon to have a good comparison to bitcoin.
Indeed, ripple is just a promising star of digital currency and it's a long long way to go for ripple to be on the level of bitcoin.

Ripple gonna take bitcoin is only in your dream and all ripple fans dream. Ripple project funded by bitcoin tho and every single alt coin on earth price is depend on bitcoin price. The real decentralised coin in this world is only bitcoin. I dont care about people fud about its transaction fee. I still believe this bitcoin and crypto market cap can beat gold marketcap.

Ripple overtake Bitcoin?  Wow, that would be a tragedy, and would go against everything that the cryptoworld stands for, which is mainly a decentralized monetary system.  Remember that Ripple has an unlimited supply as well...kind of like fiat.
I do not believe there will be any coin that can replace bitcoin and the ripple too. Although Bitcoin is having a lot of bad news, bitcoin still has a lot of good features that other altcoins have not. So I think bitcoin will still grow very well in the near future, this year bitcoin target is 100k USD, I think this is possible to do.

It is worth saying that Bitcoin is king and always will be, but we can not underestimate the strength of bankers and institutions, the strongest pump I've seen in a little bit in relation to market cap and the most interesting is the amount of supply, more than 38 Billion that's amazing, it's breaking down barriers.

I'm the only one who thinks that only ethereum can defeat btc.
My opinion is that people are buying ripple because they have heard that banks agree with it.
Ethereum will grow because every day new projects appear some successful others just scams. I'm not a Ethereum fan, but that's my opinion, until now I had another opinion, but after I got more information about this coin I agreed  to this conclusion.

Come on :
- look at the supply (1:3 is locked !)
- look at the CENTRALISATION !!

And just because it pumps you want to buy it at this price !???

Good luck to you !

I agree.

I think a lot of newbies are entering the market and throwing their money at cheaper coins without looking at the supply/cap.

Ripple is literally nothing special. I'm surprised it is even as successful as it is. I guess it's because of a good team and a well oiled marketing campaign.

Sorry, but you lost your credibilty now ...

I think you messed concepts here. Decentralized in a computer science meaning is the ability to handle the information from different points. In addition to that, Bitcoin is replicated so that means all of the information is copied to all of the participants in the blockchain. If you attack one node and because DDoS is effective, the other nodes can continue working. That’s because Bitcoin is better than PayPal, or any other technology centralized bank.

You just copied and pasted the first comment which is written under the article linked by user Branko:

Ripple is not exactly the same as XRP.

Ripple is a network for money transfer based on blockchaintech owned and used by big banks.
XRP is a 100% premined Shitcoin created by the same banks out of thin air. The banks sell it now and accumulate Bitcoins and Ethereum(really huge amounts). They get it basically for free, they did not pay anything for the XRP they sell.
Ripple does not need XRP, the only use for XRP is to pay fees on the ripple network with a discount.

It cannot happen. Because XRP is not completely a crypto. It is created by a company and many investors do not like this. So, I do not think that XRP can pass Bitcoin

Take a deep look at XRPs marketcap of 130.000.000.000$ and say again, that many investors don't like that coin...
Grin
... good joke.

Its called a pump. in a day or 2 this marketcap will be back at 50.000.000.000$

And what do you call a BTC going up from 1,500$ to 20,000$ in a couple of months? A rising Kingdom?

It cannot happen. Because XRP is not completely a crypto. It is created by a company and many investors do not like this. So, I do not think that XRP can pass Bitcoin

Take a deep look at XRPs marketcap of 130.000.000.000$ and say again, that many investors don't like that coin...
Grin
... good joke.

Its called a pump. in a day or 2 this marketcap will be back at 50.000.000.000$

And what do you call a BTC going up from 1,500$ to 20,000$ in a couple of months? A rising Kingdom?
Funny man...

I think in new few days Ripple shit coin will take over Bitcoin, check the market cap, Ripple 145 billion, Bitcoin 250 billion

What is this happening, does someone pumping Ripple?
You should know that ripple is currently getting pump by some whales and very soon the pumping will end and those fund will flow back to bitcoin. Ripple cannot replace bitcoin as the two has there different roles in the market. I think we should not trying to look at the current happening and see bitcoin as been weak but I have ever know bitcoin as a coin that always give surprised and I believe that it will continue it leading roles.

Ripple has risen wildly, though it will only provide special blockchain to its partners. The general perception is that Ripple will be used by its partners, but unfortunately the facts are not. I think Ripple will fall when learning this.

Do you know why XRP is rising? Because people comprehend, that your shit is already refuted.

If it happens, it will be for a few days only.  Bitcoin has almost completed its correction so should
start rising in a few days. Ripple has already run up so much so due for a correction.

I havent invested 1$ in ripple and never will do. If I want to invest into samting that is controlled by other I have regular stock exchange + it's more safer then this pump shit that's been going on. 70% of ripple is still being held by it's creators, only that should raise a red flag and not go into this. Congrats to does peeople that have used ripple to earn more BTC tho Smiley Smiley

BTC: Too slow and too expensive.
This dinosaur can't rule the global need for a cryptocurrency.
Beside: Only 5 mining pools control 51% of the BTC!
You call that decentralized?
Let me giggle...

So yes:
XRP will overtake BTC.
Why?
Best connected with banks, therefore with our bank accounts, extreme fast and able to cope a mass of transactions for a shit of fee, and on its way to become a lot more decentralized than BTC. The market fortunately don't cares for ideology...

Ripple can pass Bitcoin in total marketcap value but it doesn't mean it takes over. First of all Ripple is not a decentralized crypto currency. Majority of coins are in hands of small group. They can pump the price whatever they want. Never trust these scammers.

One thing which might actually good, is the fact that "the large public" does not know the difference between Ripple and the rest. This so-called "trusted" Ripple coin might indirectly be a nice way to be introduced to the other (decentralized) coins.

One thing for sure: if bitcoin doesn't solve the scalability issue, it will die. And so far, it doesn't look like they will handle it. Not to mention all those shitty fork.
Let's hope for the sake of cryptos that it's just a korean pump and ripple isn't taking over.

My thoughts exactly. Ripple has experienced an uncharacteristic pump as of late due which you can attribute almost entirely to the vast amount of "new" crypto-investors. Folks who know little to nothing about crypto and have just recently decided to invest in it after hearing about it non-stop on the internet and news. Ripple is the one coin they know about other than Bitcoin. Since Ripple is very cheap on a 1 for 1 basis, they feel like it's a better idea to buy a lot of Ripple instead of a little bit of Bitcoin. Again, this is because they know nothing about cryptos.

Ripple is a good coin to use right now to accumulate more bitcoin and to take advantage of the unexperienced new crypto investors, but it will never surpass Bitcoin in market cap. If it does, we will see a crypto meltdown like never before.

I have never invested a penny in Ripple and hopefully never will. I have always seen it as an "anti-crypto" crypto. Just say no to Ripple. All it will take to dump Ripple, is for it to experience a pretty strong correction. When that happens, your new investors will lose big when they all cash out for a loss, and then never invest in cryptos again, because it "is too volatile."

Ripple will never take over bitcoin. Ripple will just rise and pump but not as high as bitcoin. Its not yet the right time to dethrone bitcoin.

Why? What is your argumentation? Or are you just guessing? Or wishing?

The fact is that the current cap is huge and still growing, if you like it or not. That's the only fact and all other stuff is just senseless talk. It's impossible to predict if XRP is gonna take over BTC, but it's clear it is well on the way.

At this time, bankers have all the funds to pump prices up and not to mention retail investors and traders who are willing to buy just to ride the trend. Ripple poses as a threat to Bitcoin indeed.

I would be very surprised if it did overtake bitcoin's marketcap although it really isn't that far off, I will look at this in a couple of days with a surprised look on my face Smiley

I do think that the ripple excitement will die off in a week or so and it will fall back to top 10.

South Korea was pumping centralized banker coin to the senseless price. How this banker coin becomes more popular in South Korea in the recent weeks. There are some crypto news sites already published it.
But ripple looks possible to surpass the bitcoin if this trend still continues.
