It will be nice if they start a smart contract system. I hope the projects that will be built on the network won't create huge supply and have tons of it to the team.

One big problem about ripple is lack of burn feature, there is no going back since the project has billions max supply from start but why can't they burn tokens? This will increase the coin price better, secondly, creating smart contract on ripple? That's ridiculous, it was never built for this from scratch

This seems to be the first that will launch on the ripple network. Ripple itself hasn't been doing well for a while. Let's hope this boost the progress of ripple and the new platform.
The first for ripple but smartcontract is already an old idea. it's too late for ripple to launch this and i guess the hype will not so big as another smartcontract platform. Honestly, smartcontract idea is totally overhyped. We didn't need a bunch of smartcontract platforms.

I think smartcontracts are overhyped for now. Until there are real use application for them (something more than ICOs and cryptokitties and games), they won't do much. For those, we need Oracles (to bring data outside blockchain to smartcontracts), but we a milestone away from that now...

Massive news for long term xrp hodlers and supporters, i think smart ?contracts was something that was missing in xrp as a top 3 coin as soon this gap is covered we will see new use cases for xrp and hence demand will increase.

I don't see at as a good news , having smart contract means there are also many project will use that platform to make another ICO or crowdsale.
Having many kind of smart contract doesn't help at all and we cannot see any good project launch that use a smart contract platform .
These only created to make some noise since for is too long quiet without good update to give to investors. It will just create hype but is this will help the market?

Untill it is launched I guess the USD vakue of Ripple will remain the same. The last time it went above $1 was in 2017. Till today it is still stuck below $0.50

They are hyping XRP's smart contract, they were trying this kind of news since 2016 with the SWELL project.
No matter whatever they do, they must stop releasing millions of coins from their secret escrow periodically. Otherwise, Ripple won't find any long term investment and speculators will keep on playing along the pricing wave.
This step will probably help them to get some more partners but the value of Ripple will still go down to drain as long as they keep on releasing coins!
This is also a big problem with XRP, it's disappointing. With all these millions of coins ready for dumping when its distributed, they're only robbing the investors in broad daylight. Not the type of investment for someone who knows there are better altcoins out there.

I don't see Ripple value going to down to drain. It is performing better than most cryptocurrencies out there, as it is stable in Rank 3 for a long time...

This is pretty interesting information. Is Ripple going to challenge Ethereum?
No, it is not challenging or competing to ethereum. They are different blockchains with different purposes.Ethereum is intended to be decentralized world computer, where decentralized apps run on top of it. dApps are applications which cannot be turned off, because they run on a decentralized plataform. XRP is not decentralized and cannot do that, neither is its objective.
On the other hand, XRP aims to work with financial corporations proving financial services. Faster transactions for example, and I believe those smartcontracts will intermediate agreements between banks and other financial institutions. Nothing to do with dApps, cryptokitties, games and so on.

The fact that they are going to launch the function of smart contracts on the Ripple platform, I read for a long time. This is pretty interesting information. Is Ripple going to challenge Ethereum? It’s just interesting whether Ripple smart contracts will be in demand, given that this coin is centralized?
