i'll probably close this gateway in a near future ; people don't understand much when it comes to exchanges with other blockchains, are confused with IOUs (when they know about them), and never read instructions Smiley

Did you take it down? Not available.

Nice to have some diversity of issuers even though all the liquidity for TRC is in https://www.dividendrippler.com/

Interesting.  I'm already created a manual gateway and I plan on automating it once it gets more secure.

Did you find a way to set your account to require destination tags?

Yep, i wrote a quick and dirty python client to submit the request, within a few seconds, a json message was received, indicating the successful processing ; still haven't tried to send some IOUs from ripple to the gateway without destination tag to see IOUs vanishing Smiley

Inability to do that prevented me from even trying the sample gateway code they provided.

You could still try the sample code, i first ran a basic version without setting this account flag.
(could indeed lead to big losses for your users once public, if they don't include the tag)

I was also told the code was not reliable, should not be used for real. For example it would not be robust in the event of a power outage.

It's a basic sample indeed, it uses sqlite to store inbound / outbound operations, with a simple completion status flag, things could probably go wrong if your host running the sample code shuts down right after processing an incoming ripple IOU, but before processing the local currency/blockchain output ; it's jsut a sample after all Smiley

i must admit i'm now less enthusiast regarding ripple.

I know this software is still in its alpha phase, but i ran in multiple issues while depositing/withdrawing funds (BTC) with bitstamp, to finally see some test BTC vanish while seen as completed, during a bitstamp deposit from ripple.

Now it looks like the ripple client simply won't update any data after login, every operation requires a full logout/login cycle, not speaking of the multiple service unavailability ("network not available") per hour.

Moving funds within ripple also looks quite expensive, you quickly end up with nothing left to move Smiley

I also really don't like to rely on a single closed-source server for valuable exchanges, my current bank already do that very well.

Kinda disappointed for now, although the whole thing looks promissing.
i may have a look at it again later in a few months, but for now, it looks really not suitable for any use involving real cash (direct or indirect) to me.

almost forgot: do not forget to trust the given ripple address ( rZQGU7Y5ZdLhNWTCV6BKJFcpLijyYVYWX ) for the amount you're going to send in the system, otherwise you won't receive the TRC IOUs.

I don't know how that happened, but i previously had an errorneous ripple address in my trust list for this service ; check it twice

Experimenting with ripple, i managed to successfully send TRC in and out of the system (using gateway from http://www.bitcoinreactor.com/ ) now i'm curious about TRC exchanges within Ripple : have anyone successfully trade those (custom currencies) on ripple ?

I've just sent really small amounts in here, because of the big beta warning, any tips/thought on this ?
