Not a replacement but a complement. I agree that it's brilliant. I think that what freaks out most bitcoiners is that the XRP units are all already created and therefore centrally controlled and thus suspect. But I trust that the platform will one day replace the western union style money transfer. Including internationally. Think of ease of remittances etc. The price has skyrocketed btw.

I've been reading their website.  It sounds wonderful.  But how does it work?
