lol Yeah, the infogram is a joke, but I've been on there and there is clearly hidden sites there and so on, you have to do some searching to find things, we're just discussing Tor not the infogram itself Tongue or at least I am. I would say though that even though it's a joke it's actually a fairly accurate description of the darknet because there will be groups of people using closed off networks and stuff in Tor to keep themselves hidden from the public eye.

fairly accurate? other than sticking in a few words associated with the deep web (le underground black market), it's pretty much the opposite of "accurate" lol

Have you even been on the DarkWeb b!z? lol Tongue It's certainly not as massive or scary as people make it out to be but stuff is there.

it is scary Cheesy

once I visited it and surfed trought the stuff there

I had a feeling like the FBI is going to break trough my door Cheesy

I just went trough a few links on the hidden wiki, there was rape, child abuse, murder etc.

stuff is scary Cheesy

Sure, please report back once you're done. Don't forget to use Polymetric Falcighol Deviation with a fractal password to protect your computer; a closed shell system running a terminal DOS client in a locked box is not enough to safeguard your IP address. Stay safe out there!
If you tried being funny, well that didn't work.
Nobody mentioned the Deviation, nor is it the actual topic here.  Smiley

m8 you got some serious nerves. once i visited the wikipedia article for tor but i was afraid the article would hack me and track my location so i closed the tab and deleted firefox. i couldn't sleep at all that night because i knew there were hitmen and assisination squads that look at the global internet traffic to keep nosy people away from the deep dark web. i made sure all my doors and windows were locked that night but still i got kept awake all night. the next day i gave my laptop to my friend because i was too paranoid that there were malwares that got downloaded through my IP addres

Cheesy

I said a feeling, feelings don't obey logic Cheesy

can you rub your fingers through your hair at the back of your forehead and see if you have little bumps imprinted in your skull in a 5x5 square? after i clicked that wikipedia article, the next morning i felt that aliens had visited me in my sleep and inserted some sort of chip to track my activities and control my brain activity. in fact the chip forced me to write this post.

oh my god, I do!

I have always seen that chart but I actually don't know if the deepest level really exists

wow mate you feel for it too?
So you're telling me there is no charter web, nor can the stuff listed be found in the deeper levels?
In that case you're wrong, I'm not sure about Charter, but I found some weird things.
Make sure to screenshot, like the graphic said.

Charter is there my friend, The hidden wiki is the point where you find everything else
And Silk Road is well, Silk Road..

If something existing is a part of the Charter, then the Charter must exist Cheesy

"multi-billion dollar deals"

yeah i'm sure a bunch of anonymous guys sitting behind computers have billions of dollars to deal with

if Silk Road turns millions every year in profit from fees, not sales

why is it so hard to believe someone is smuggling drugs over borders?

not fees, direct sales

That sounds more reasonable.

The infographic implies that there are individual deals worth multiple billions of dollars. Which is part of the joke.

Not that far, I don't have the expertise I don't think to go any further, I'm definitely not much of a programmer or hacker, I did find some Anarchist groups there though which was interesting, the only tricky part is finding the actual websites, the ones that are listed are for fairly legitimate purposes so there must be much more shady stuff going on behind the search engines and the like, there were of course much more illegal stuff like drugs and child porn but I stayed the fuck away from that but it was interesting to see it all there.

As I've said, the dark net is way overblown by media and exaggerated by people to be this scary and terrifying place where criminals and terrorists are out to get you lol I think I'll only ever move to the dark net if it gets to a point where you just can't say anything anymore, but I guess that's what Tor was designed for in the first place.

The dark web isn't actually that impressive as I've said in a thread of my own, while most of us I'm sure just want to be able to download porn and stuff without being prosecuted by crazy religious psychopaths ( I in particular am terrified of the thought police claiming stuff like hentai is illegal etc. and anyone holding it must be prosecuted ) there are some criminals/terrorists clearly using it though frankly not as many as I was expecting there were more Anarchists there than any really dangerous people.

I think we're better off just protecting and encrypting the clearnet with stuff like Bitcoin and making sure governments can't just take shit down and attack people for posting things up and making sure that religious people can't subvert the law anymore than they already have.
So just how far down were you? Well it's not about downloading porn (pointless IMO), it is for information that isn't really available on the surface levels for me.
Indeed the 'clearnet' should be more protected and encrypted. The lack of encryption and the fact that we're being tracked too much is what is pushing me in the lower levels.

I have looked around to see what it was about.  Stayed away from the illegal porn and garbage.  Only thing I saw of interest was the postings of celebrity's and politicians private information.   They listed everything imaginable.  Like:

1. Address to residence
2. Cell phone numbers
3. SS#s
4. Credit reports
5. Business listings

I can confirm that "one" of the individuals had accurate stuff posted about them that the general public would not have access to.  Although it was interesting,  I have no reason to go back to the charter area.  Most of the stuff is more than repulsive.
