This is old news. They were old when you posted. But fine..
That guy is an economist. An over-simplified description would bee a guy that know some rather basic math, he's clever, but not extremely smart, he's good on explaining simple things to people.
They don't understand deflationary coin, since it's not in most of their books and they can't gasp it. It's like discussing about a 10 dimension object with most people, really.
So he's famous, he has to say something about this bitcoin thing.. so he struggles to say something. He does that. If Bloomberg liked that act, they'll hire him another time too, if not, they'll find somebody else.
Whether you or me liked that, it's not important on the big picture. Did your parents (mine are not in US) believe him? This would be a better question and a better way to quantify his acting.

People watch, and react, that's how things have always gone here, and that's exactly what the main players behind the scenes use in their advantage. This market is almost completely speculation driven.Add that the majority of the people just don't know anything about Bitcoin, and there you have a prefect combination to shake up the market. If people even remotely ignored fud, we would be over $50,000 already.
The $20,000 peak last year is built based on speculation and fomo only. Nothing justified the market to go up that much. Also, technical analysis was proven to be worthless last year because of that, and to some extent still is.
It was one crazy party last year. No one ever could have predicted that.
Are you really surprised, mate? I think they haven't yet started their play. No doubt Crypto will face hard time in near future when more and more people will get involved. Everyone barks when they start to lose control over something. Best thing for crypto users, watch and then ignore.

I avoid him. He got no logical reasoning and blabber more with hypothetical assumptions on crypto bubble. Peoples like Roubini distracts newcomers and enthusiast who try to get into bitcoins but then step back.

I do not think he knows much about Blockchain specifically, so he dares to argue in another article "Blockchain is Slower and Inefficient" than the Bank.
His argument about bubbles is quite plausible, but he is too distracting Bitcoin / Crypto on the Negative Side alone not on the positive side for example with Bitcoin / Crypto can reduce unemployment worldwide.
