The merge mining factor that RSK has is by far the most important one. Sadly I think there are not as many miners doing this merge mining with btc.
If you wanna try new things with btc, rsk is the best. I invested some with those Dapss you mentioned and they are good.

Hello everyone! How are you?

This is my first post, I really didn't know where to ask this and I found this beautiful forum full of bitcoiners.

I recently found RSK (https://www.rsk.co/) looking for DEFI projects where to invest my savings.
This project from what I found out is a BTC sidechain where they add smartcontract allowing you to do DEFI of BTC, tokens, etc.

Being a BTC sidechain, it takes advantage of the decentralization of the BTC blockchain and therefore they call themselves the second most decentralized blockchain in the market since they take advantage of BTC miners. It is also compatible with EVM so it can be used from metamask without limitations.

It is also a project that was born in 2017, long before the multiple EVM projects that are now so its antiquity gives me a lot of security.
Recently they published this article:

https://blog.rsk.co/noticia/with-rbtc-powering-defi-for-bitcoin-why-wrap-your-btc/

Considering its huge advantages comparing rBTC with WBTC over ETH, I fail to understand why this Blockchain is not extremely famous. It has very good projects like Sovryn and Tropykus for DEFI.
They manage a leveraged Bitcoin called Bpro that for some strange reason that I still do not find out well when BTC goes up you win x2 but if it goes down you do not lose x2, but less within MoneyOnChain.

I wanted to know what this beautiful community thinks about it!

I am sorry if this is not the right way to ask this.

Hi there.
In my case i use RSK. I like the protocol MoneyOnChain particulary because of the BPro token, which i just hold along with btc.
about the advtanges i agree that rBtc its far better than the wrapped version of ethereum, and also not sure why its user base its low compared with other chains. I guess is just a matter of time.
Also, consider that many bitcoiners prefer to just hold bitcoin instead of a pegged version, so maybe its not a matter of which blockchain, because they stick to btc.

Probably the rsk team needs to do more marketing or something different to attracts developers to come an build on the network, as it is, the network is so unnoticed, if not for sovryn project i wouldn't have known such network existed, i think rbtc is only traded in kucoin, although sovryn fastbtc was a good alternative. The general awareness of the rsk network is very low, only few projects have been launched there for now but who knows what will happen in future.
And i agree with @bitkanu, most of the defi projects launched on the network are not doing well, sovryn at the beginning looked great but some how the project just went down, fish is no different, i don't know if mynt project will perform.

Glad to see you here and i do know about RSK. This is second layer blockchain for bitcoin and it's a competitor for stack. To be honest the performance of defi projecs that built in the RSK was not so good. I think that you need to see that before you wanna invest your money into the DEFI based on RSK blockchain. I see that if this become the upgrade from the old RSK chain that used by RBTC.

Being a BTC sidechain, it takes advantage of the decentralization of the BTC blockchain and therefore they call themselves the second most decentralized blockchain in the market since they take advantage of BTC miners. It is also compatible with EVM so it can be used from metamask without limitations.
yeah sure but this was not so popular among the crypto users compared with stack or even lightning. The competition is very strict between both. Remember that we have also wrapped bitcoin that has become the main competitor for RBTC as the main thing offered by RSK blockchain.

It is also a project that was born in 2017, long before the multiple EVM projects that are now so its antiquity gives me a lot of security.

I have ever used rbtc and it was so fast but to be honest. im not feeling confidence with it. It's hard to convert your RBTC to BTC and viceversa and when you are using CEX and there's only small liquidity.

Considering its huge advantages comparing rBTC with WBTC over ETH, I fail to understand why this Blockchain is not extremely famous. It has very good projects like Sovryn and Tropykus for DEFI.

The performance of MOC was not so good as well along with babel fish. The problem is bitcoin has lightning network that makes it become very cheap on its transaction fees.

Newbie, fresh accounts posting links is suspicious. Most of the time those posts get removed. Better move the thread to:
Alternate cryptocurrencies > Marketplace (Altcoins) > Service Announcements (Altcoins)

The "move" link is on the bottom left corner.

As far as i'm concerned, you're free to promote your project (at least, i think that's what you're doing), that being said, i personally think that this does not belong in the bitcoin discussion subforum.

All these tokens, wrapped coins,... As far as i'm concerned, they're altcoins that can be traded for bitcoin, so they belong in the altcoin subfora.

I came to know about rsk network through sovryn and babel fish projects since i was part of the campaigns, it is true the rsk network is not very popular among the crypto community given they are side chain of btc and provide smart contract for btc defi projects like sovryn, babel fish etc,
i think one of the reason for the network to be unpopular is the rbtc process, i remember some users where very confuse during sovryn sale and campaign, especially where to get rbtc and how to go about the whole process, but truth is, it is easy to use ones you understand it, however, people are more comfortable with what they are familiar with.
As a btc side chain providing smart contract, you would think more devs would like to build dApps using rsk but that hasn't being the case, most of them would rather use eth network, and now bsc, polygon and sol.

hi there GrandFatherDefi!!

i'm too im investing on RSK products, since discover the same advantages that you said!, since I'm more a BUY and HOLD strategy, I can't say what product are they using for trading. the other day I Read that someone have use #XRIF to get leverage on trading.  the rBTC part is the best, is like you said! like WBTC, since they have pegged 1BTC =rBTC but with the advantage that you can transfer by a Fraction of an ETH cost fee!

Personally I use RIF tokens, 'cos the low costs. and the security, i like to buy and HOLD small caps, but GREAT projects. Recently they have release NFT support with Watafan wallet!, so, i belive that is a great DeFi to have in your wallet!

if anyone on this community knows the Answer to GrandFather Defi hope to chat here!
