what are your clocks.

what do you hash at?

these are the most expensive hard to get gear there is.

I can get  112 mh at 280 watts with a downclock on the ram.

and two fans pointed at the backplates.
Then you need to play around with the gpu very well because the actual MH should be 120 at 290-300watts, there is a way to download vram voltage too I believe

For my 3080s, watercooling helped.
102.8 MHs - around 225 Watt.

You will need fans for the backside, or another cooling solution for the backside.

Won't an AIO bolted to the backplate also void the warantee?

The problem is specific to certain models and results in thermal throttling.
It's definitely a problem that needs to be solved and might be worth the
risk of voiding the warantee.

Here's a thread that has been discussing the issue since the start.

To replace the thermal pads you need to disassemble the backplate.
And in my case you need to break a warranty sticker to remove the backplate which means you void the warranty.
I won't do this - that's why I thought about the AiO cooler on the backplate.

And yes, I know you can just stick on heatsinks - but I did that and it wasn't great.

I did a little googling real quick and found that anything under 103c should be considered ok.  If it were me I'd do more research, but it sounds like this isn't specific to your card and is what is to be expected.

I am like you though and will always make sure to go cooler than needed with my rigs.  I've always been an underclocker as opposed to an overclocker.

All that being said, this guy seems to be getting his VRAM temps down with a thermal pad solution that might be worth giving a try:

Hey guys,

I have got 2 RTX 3090 cards.
The VRAM temps are like crazy 85-100 celsius on 18 degrees ambient.. and summer is coming.

I put on some heatsinks and a fan in front of them. The temps dropped about 8-10 degrees celsius.... but I'm still not satisfied.

So I thought about putting an AiO watercooling on the backplate.
I would try to use a TR4 sockel CPU AiO.

Has anyone tried this before and can tell me if this cooler is big enough to cover the VRAM around the chip?
