Judging by this recent post, he lives in Europe and sympathizes with Ukraine. So it's okay, my little fucking Nazi. Grin
Yes my guy, everyone who hates Russia and sympathizes with Ukraine is a Nazi.
the forum does not care what country you are from, as long you or they follow the forum rules, you'll be fine. if your only reason for someone to be banned or be barred from moderating on a forum is because of them being from a certain country, then I am sad to say that you won't get what you want.
Exactly, even if you support the most depraved and evil people out there like R. Kelly or Hitler, as long as you don't force that support on other people's throats and you're not vocal about them then you're all good here. We all just want a pretend wholesome community here, no politics unless you're in the P&S discussion.

OP, I understand your position, considering what happens in Ukraine for almost 2 years, it looks a bit strange that moderator of Politics and society board is Russian. It would looks strange if mod would be from Israel or Palestine.
But in this case, I don't see any issue. Xal0lex doesn't looks like one of Z-patriots, I haven't see him supporting invasion anywhere. He also didn't tried to censor posts which support Ukraine. Seems that he is doing his job professional and I haven't seen complaints about Xal0lex other than his nationalty.

If you are talking about Politics and Society board, the previous moderator abandoned his account by not logging in for years, so a replacement was appointed.

The administration of this forum does not care what country are you from, as long as one can be a reliable moderator and get the job done. It would be quite ironic if a forum dedicated to freedom of speech, decentralization and Bitcoin, suddenly started to ban thousands of their regular users from getting some positions because they language they speak, their origins or the color of their skin, etc. If you view it carefully from that point of view, this forum has been more fair when handling their users than many countries and regimes through the history of humanity and I expect the administration to continue that way and never fall for vices which have pushed other communities towards division and disappearing almost completely.

Politics & Society is hardly a "serious" section of the forum. Its the refuge of lunatics, trolls and a regular exhibition of the Dunning-Kreuger effect in full force. And that's fine, it keeps them there and away from other sections. All the mod has to do there is demonstrate that they are capable of regularly deleting spam. That's about it.

I personally feel offended, since I am a person who regularly ins interested in geopolitics and I have become an regular user of that section and I can assure you I am none a lunatic or a troll of any sort.  Wink

Also, judging from the older threads which had been opened there in the Politics and Society section, indeed there were some wacky people posting about conspiracies of blood replacement and demonic agents taking over the governments of the world, but nowadays, it seems that kind of content has diminished. Just my perception, I am quite new around here in the forum after all.  Tongue

It is not even because of a country. Russian is widely spoken around many countries, and no one knows from which country is a particular person, if they didn't mention it by themselves. And as you can see, he said "so-called Russian". So what he expects is a segregation based on some cultural group belonging. Undecided

So, what do you suggest? A blanket ban on all Russians from the forum?

It is not appropriate to punish an entire group of people for the actions of their government or the actions of a few individuals. That would be like punishing all Americans for the actions of the Biden administration. Besides, how do you suggest the admins do that? Should they perhaps introduce KYC verification for forum access? Would that be acceptable to you?

Can you please stop creating such dramas against those people who are doing their job sincerely. You said that you have been here for a while even if you become present on this forum no one cares much about that. Just be nice to everyone and try to at least give some respect to the members who have been doing a lot of work as moderators.

The job of a moderator isn't a child's play, the ones who are playing their roles as moderators should not be judged because they are from a particular region. Things aren't bad here, the moderators are selected based on their contribution in stopping those people who don't follow the rules of the forum and if someone from Russia has been selected as moderator then what's wrong with that?

You probably mean the P&S board, but you should know that for a very long time that board did not have a moderator, and as far as it seems to me, no one was really interested in moderating that board. If someone is doing their job objectively and in accordance with the rules of the forum, I don't see why anyone should look for a problem in that.

Things are so bad here that Russians aren't only not banned but are allowed to moderate serious topics by the standards of this forum?

This forum guarantees certain freedoms, and even if you ban people from a certain country from participating in this forum, they can easily bypass it by using VPN/Tor, which the Russians do because this forum is banned in their country. In addition, whether someone liked it or not, they are the most numerous members on the forum with the most posts.

Are you insinuating that Russians be banned from a global forum just because they have sanction in the real world?

Has it ever occurred to you that one may have dual naturalisation or citizenship, one may also have a Russian name because his parent choose to give him that or he even decided to. I see no affiliation with the Russian name and negativity.

For you to expect him to undergo sanctions and ban and restrictions on the forum is wrong.
