For me, seeing a knockout of these boxers I don't see it that close, because both boxers know what they are playing for in this fight, for me both Ruiz and Ortiz have important opportunities, but regarding the technique of both fighters, I would not know why. which one to lean more, now when we take into account that the two come out with the strategy of a knockout it is up to them to see if they play it, for my part I have to see more of each one, I don't know which one will have the hardest training , that is radical, I think that this is a way that bettors have to lean towards a 50/50 or at least I see it that way now.


Well, when evaluating a fight between them, they both want to do their best, that's why dodging blows is not in their genetics when they have a similar level of boxing and want to stand out, for me it's something that has a lot to do with all the desire to win, I don't know if they both want to go out for a knockout, but if so, I think they will be able to make it very exciting, for me this fight at the beginning, I don't think they will go out and hit everything, for me it will be very different, because I think both They will seek to study each other and then put together their strategy, for me they are explosive boxers and I think they cannot come out with everything, it would be something risky, and I think they both need this victory.

Judging from their built, they are both expected to be slow and dodging some punches is indeed a real hard challenge for them to do even if they can predict their opponent's next move. What they can mostly do is to minimize the impact by doing some kind of defense or be the strongest puncher in the ring so that they can finish their opponent much earlier before their body catches up from the wear and tear they've acquired from the fight.

It's beyond his control as of now, if the WBC says that he will need to step aside and let Fury defend it against Usyk or Joshua for a bigger pay for Tyson and the organization then he will step-aside maybe for some monetary rewards. So let's see, with the sort of boxing politics we have right, those who won the eliminators can still not get the first crack from the champion. So I wouldn't be surprised if Fury vs Ruiz will not be made yet.

Neither Ortiz or Ruiz are very good at dodging punches and it showed during the fight, but at the same time this made it entertaining as we could see two fighters that were unafraid at going at each other.

If anything I am surprised to see how resistant is the chin of Ruiz as he received several blows which should have been enough to knock other fighters down, and when it comes to Ortiz it surprised me the endurance that he had, the punch that knock him down the first time was very similar to the one that Joshua received during the first fight and he was in a bad condition for the rest of the fight while Ortiz was fine, unfortunately his age played against him which is one of the reasons he lost this fight.

I formerly thought that ortiz will have an upper hand considering his age will be an advantage for him via experience, but his age seem to have made him slower and less reactive. Ortiz should now consider retirement. Ruiz was smart, relentless and formidable in the fight, throwing everything he had over to Ortiz even to the very last round after dropping him three times during the to fight. Looking ahead, Ruiz should be ready to fight Wilder next, surely the two formidable boxers will put a great show.

Do you all think that Ruiz deserves a set-aside fee for getting out of the picture and letting the Fury - Joshua go on, this is a WBC title eliminator he deserves to be the next in line for the title, but knowing gRuiz he is not the kind of who imposes his right but let's see in the coming weeks if the Joshua - Fury will materialize which we all want to happen, but it case it did not Ruiz deserves to be the next challenger, since he won a title eliminator and he wins very impressive.

Congratulations on your win mate, although we are already speculating that Andy will be the one winning in this fight but I didn't expected that the fight will last a full 12 round after Ortiz was knocked down twice in the 2nd round and once in 7th but the latter managed to pull all his strength after that and finished the whole fight. In my take, Luis Ortiz deserves a credit for finishing the whole fight after what he endured in the early rounds.

Yes and I think Ruiz will not have a problem with that, just stepping aside and wait for the Fury (WBC champion) to fight AJ in UK for all British showdown. And so he will have months to take a rest and heal this body, prepare his mind on whoever win that fight, he will have a crack at him later, so win-win for Ruiz. And he still has the power to knockout everyone is the heavyweight division so that will be a problem for his opponents.

Who would have thought that this fight would go the distance after that knockdowns in the second round. That Ortiz is one tough old man, he recovered and almost win the fight if not for that three knockdowns he could have that decision win.

My gamble paid off as I bet for Ruiz via decision, I reviewed the tape of the previous fights of Ortiz and found out that this is tough though, only lost to Wilder by TKO (Wilder is on another lever compared to Ruiz) so i decided to go for the decision win by Ruiz.

This is a WBC title eliminator but there's an ongoing negotiation between Fury and Joshua and the WBC is agreeing for this fight to underway even giving a special designation to Joshua so the fight will push through if the fight failed to materialize then Ruiz will get into the picture but for now, the boxing community wants the Joshua - Fury to push through because it was schedule years ago but failed to mateialize.

Ruiz will surely have that chance mate because with this win(though of course he is in advantage) yet he shows how strong and tough being fighter he is.
though there is a long line for championship  but His name would be one of the boxer that will be on list.

That was an entertaining fight, I like the exchanges, it does not make us boring. Also, I'm impressed with the stamina of Ortiz, he got knocked down many times but he always stand up to continue fighting. Now, we have a title eliminator, hopefully Ruiz will be given a chance to fight for a championship fight again. I like how he maintain his body, he looks strong at that body as that's his normal.

I was wrong I thought it will not go the distance both fighters are powerful punchers but yet they both have a granite chin, I admire Kingkong for getting up every time he goes down he is still strong and can take the fight to the limit, at 43 and with many fresh faces coming in the heavyweight division his chances to be world champion is slim with this recent loss, he also says that he will still continue to fight maybe until he gets busted, the mind is the last to give up even though the body is still can and that what categorize Kingkong Ortiz.

Technically, he should be the next in line for WBC belt held by Tyson Fury. But boxing politics and business, so he had to wait for the Usyk vs Fury outcome and for sure he will have a crack at it.

However, Ruiz said in one interview that he want to have a rematch with Joshua, So let's see how it goes, Joshua is nursing from the defeat he had against Usyk but he said he want to have a comeback. So gonna be great to see if this fight happens.

That's two good wins in a row by Ruiz he is ready for another championship fight, he is more serious now Ortiz is not an easy match, he'll now have to wait for the winner of the Usyk- Fury match, if the match will push through or if not he is a contender right away against Usyk, its a better match considering that they have the same height both fighters are technical and with fast hands compared to Fury, who will just impose height against him, you can't underestimate Ruiz when he is at his best and Ortiz comes to fight it could have been close those knock downs made a big difference.

The guy is finally back with that kind of fight he is ready for another championship opportunity if given because this kind of weight class is rare to reach up to the last rounds. With some improvement in his jabs and power punches, he will likely be in boxing for a long time. I thought the other guy will go down easily but he fought until the last round too but not enough to take down Ruiz as he already prepared to go up to the last round as well and win the fight.

I am not surprised by the outcome of this fight. Ortiz is 43 and he's been out of his prime for a while. He can still be competitive but against fighters of higher quality he might get seriously hurt. Ruiz is not in great shape and this will make it difficult for him to become champion again. He is always in slugfests so I'm sure we will see him against some high profile opponents in the future.

Its was an old boxing match, reminiscent of the 90's boxing, outslugging each outslugging each other thru the 12 round bouts. It was the youth of Ruiz that prevail in the end as he win in a decision, Judges Zachary Young (114-111). Eddie Hernandez (114-111) and Fernando Villareal (113-112). He knock down Ortiz twice in round 2 and again in round 7. And that it enough to win because as you can see on the score the fight can go either way if not for that knock down. King Kong though is very slim but very define at his fighting weight of 245 lbs and it seems that he really trained very hard for this fight although he is the underdog here.

Yes, this is there last chance, winner will have a crack at Tyson Fury's WBC belt as this has been sanctioned by them as a title eliminator. But there is already talks of a Fury vs Usyk fight for unification.

It's unlikely to go the distance both fighters are always a punch away from victory, this is a fight worth watching even if there's no belt at stake, its great to watch a fight where both fighters are knock-out artists and they are staying to be in title contention, both fighters cannot afford to lose, even if they won their last matches, they already challenged for the title and this could possibly be their last chance for a title shot.

This would be an entertaining fight indeed. Seems like Ruiz really trains hard for this as he looks trimmed or he put more muscles unlike in his previous fights (just my observation on the weigh-in).

As i have said in my previous post that I have a change of heart regarding this fight as I will be betting for Ruiz on this one because he got more speed than Kingkong. Will be betting for Ruiz via KO but will allocate some for Ruiz via decision as well in case this would go the distance.

I'm expecting a entertaining fight, both could have their moments. So let's see which one can get it first because I'm not expecting this fight to go to the distance. Someone will have to get knock out here, hehehe.

Wait, I think Ortiz best form was when he beat Joshua, in the rematch, he lose weight to be faster but he ended up losing the fight. Well, that was the biggest fight of his career, so hopefully, he will get a win here and who knows, he can have a big fight next like a championship fight. Or how about a trilogy with Joshua? For sure Ruiz will be confident as Joshua came from 2 straight losses.

Well from my few analysis this would be a very tough fight, but one thing to be considered is that age their age factor most especially Luis Ortiz. He would probably lost the fight to Andy Ruiz since he is smarter and vibrant also much younger.

Ruiz has a better record and experience so I might say that he has an edge here but he shouldn't be too confident because Ortiz is also preparing so well for this match. Well, those are major decisions, although I would choose to stay longer, the older the boxers are, the more experience they have, and there is something that many boxers do not see, and that is that the older boxers have almost everything calculated, because they know their bodies very well. and they are capable of doing anything to win a fight because they know every inch of what can happen technically, for me it is a great option if it is for the benefit of the sport and not for the business model that boxing represents, this is something that must be noted, that the boxer is always with the best of all dispositions and goes out to give a good show.


Wow this is something that can certainly happen, but to say that Ortiz will give a knockout is something quite strong, because if it happens as they say, Ortiz may go out with everything to give a knockout, but if he does not give it, all the wear and tear that implies Putting in to give a knockout is exhausting, if just resisting exhausts you, making the effort at the beginning is a good thing, but with results, otherwise you have to stick to what comes later, there are boxers who know how to fight sticking to what comes to them, and This may be a virtue of Ruiz, also if the ocsa happen like this, he has no other choice unless Ruiz goes with the same strategy and looks for a knockout, which would be very interesting.

TBH, i have not watch a single fight involving Ortiz so thanks for this info mate, with this i'm now inclined to a win by Ruiz via knockout because judging from his Johua fight, he is aggressive and relentless so if Ortiz gasses out in the middle rounds then i think it would be over for him under the ninth round. Ruiz by KO @1.78 is not bad at all, much way better than the ML.

Looking at the knockout rate of both fighters which for me are high, i also that either fighter would sleep in the canvass and i'm thinking that it would be Andy Ruiz. Twice Ortiz lost to Wilder and that was expected as Wilder was is far superior than Ortiz but against the smaller Ruiz, i guess the latter would struggle just like on his rematch with Joshua.

Yes, Usyk is most likely the fight that Fury is going to make and not the winner of this fight. But he is asking for so much money, 500 M £? that is huge, but then again when the demand for that fight to happen is very big specially who is going to be his dance partner, for sure there is something that they can do to make the fight and lots of money for Fury. So it make sense that whoever wins here will have to step aside for sometime.

Fury really has a lot of challenges to take in the future for him to maintain his title. There are lots of boxers who want to beat him because of his consistent winning record. Fury is an in-demand boxer right now and I guess he should take advantage of the many opportunities in front of him. However, he has to go through Usyk first who seems ready to face him on the ring.

Fury is fully aware of the demand of the community, if Joshua wins the match there will be a trilogy, and Fury will just stay retire because no fighters who he thinks can match his skill and power, but Usyk happens to win the match and he has a claim as the greatest boxer of this generation, so now two fighters are claiming for the title and the boxing community wants a match to see who has the real claim for the title of the greatest, Fury will eventually agree to the best term his team can get but I don't think not that 500 million pounds, Fury cannot miss something as great as this.

Not saying that either fighter is not a challenge to Tyson Fury, but if you look at how big the money if Fury comes out of the retirement and fight Usyk, it will be huge, the guaranteed purse and then the live gate and PPV splits. So for sure, boxing organizations are going to prioritize this fight and the winner of this fight will have to wait before they get a crack on the champion. But still, this fight is very important for either Ruiz or Ortiz.

Whoever wins here is the rightful challenger to any of the world titles be it the WBC, WBA or IBF but if WBC will have their way, the Fury -Usyk will have to wait, and Fury if he wants to retain and take hold of the title he needs to fight the winner of this fight, but if Fury doesn't want to retain the WBC and go straight to the Usyk match then there could be an interim match, which the WBC will decide, there are so many speculations now.

This is something very good, which means that both will come out with everything, and this is how I like to see a boxing fight, where nothing is kept and they give a good show, there is nothing worse than seeing two boxers taking care of himself and leaving all the work to the judges, it seems to me that he is somewhat cowardly, and if both of them in their interviews say they want to knock out, it is evident that there will be maximum action, this motivates the bettors a lot, because I It reminds me that years ago I saw the fight between MayWEATHER and Pacquiao and for me it was a total waste of time to see Mayweather running in Pacquiao's ring.

So they remain friends after 2 fights, good to hear, and maybe that's why he is on the bandwagon. And it's good though, Ortiz is the underdog here, so if Wilder or others beat on him, for sure the payout will be big.

Yeah, more likely Ruiz can continue, but still he used to be the new hype in the boxing after he upsets Joshua and he did show a lot of potential. For Ortiz, I can see the reasoning. However, Ruiz has looked good much of his career it was only after the second fight against Joshua he lost his way a little bit. There's plenty of time for him to bounce back from that, given he remains as dedicated as he was prior to that fight. You've got to feel for him, never really had big fights prior to the first Joshua fight, then knocks him out giving him his first loss, and obviously that sudden fame, and money can get to a person, and it clearly got to Ruiz.

I think he said in an interview he couldn't stop partying, and that's going to effect your career. Plenty of trainers, and fighters have said he wouldn't come training after that, and its probably due to not being ready for that sort of exposure, and wealth.

Ruiz is a good fighter, and very fast for his size. If he can get a few wins under his belt, he might just discover that passion he had before the money. Plus, by the sounds of it he might have wasted a lot of that money he won, and therefore that could've dried up or be close to doing so reigniting that fire he had once before.

For Ortiz maybe retirement is possible if he lose, but for Ruiz, I think he is still young and can still fight. Well, I'm not thinking he would retire though as I am confident he will win this fight and would probably have a big fight after this.

2-3 years ago probably but now, we can just anticipate the fight to rely on how fat can Ruiz be in the fight. He definitely was fast when he fought with AJ. Conditioning is still a question on Ortiz, yes he has obviously a chance because there's no question that he is one of the biggest puncher in Heavyweight division specially in his prime year. But as he gets old, as I have said, most of his losses is because he run out of steam in the middle rounds and that's where he become susceptible and then getting defeated. For sure, they have accepted this fight and so they are hungry for another shot at the title (but I'm hesitated to give them a chance against the current breed of champions.

I'm not taking out Ortiz's chances, though Ruiz is the favorite here, based on both fighter's last fight, conditioning, and motivation, on their last fights Ortiz has the better outcome compared to Ruiz, on conditioning both fighters are on top conditions on motivation they are on their all-time high because this fight is a career leveling up for another shot of the title, they are both hungry for another shot, Ruiz is favorite here but Ortiz is good at messing up people's expectations, this will be exciting as we headed on the fight.

He is the younger guy and as Ortiz is already over 40. We cannot forget that Ruiz upset Joshua the first time they meet, so I have my trust him since Ortiz is not a champion and he is probably going to retirement. So one strategy of Ruiz is to just survived and not to get knock out and then he smells that Ortiz fatigued, he can go and look for his power right just like what he did against Anthony Joshua.

Yes, that is the thing with Ortiz, his age so he gasses out early, in the Wilder fight, he really hurt Wilder and could be ahead on the judges score card if I'm not mistaken.

When you consider age as a disadvantage, do you also consider the experience that this his age may bring as well and not just the perceived weakness. IMO, Ortiz is well aware of his age before opting for this fight, he knows what is at stake and knows very well that his age may be considered as a weakness. He will be working hard to prove those who think he has no chance in this fight wrong. He has a good shot at winning against Ruiz. It will be in the best interest of Ruiz's team not to write him off.

Ever since the heavyweight match in boxing are short and most likely will end up in knockout just like the era of Mike Tyson where the fight is not exciting when it last until 12 rounds, today's heavyweight boxers are the same, they will unleash their heavy punches in the early rounds and will gonna end it as soon as possible because most of them don't have enough stamina to last up to the last rounds and when they failed to knock out their opponent, they will be the one to fall due to exhausted.

now, i am thinking that this will be the retirement fight for ortiz, to get one last paycheck before hanging up the gloves. but who knows, he will hang up as winner if ruiz will not prepare this fight. being inactive may have an impact, but if ruiz is serious on this fight, his team will prepare hard so as not to second guess when he's inside the ring.

This should be WBC title eliminator, and as we all know, Fury is the current belt holder, and then the former champion, Wilder is rank #1 by the organization.

Have you seen his last fight against Martin, Martin was all over him I thought he was going to knock Ortiz out because he knock him down twice until that huge big straight hit Martin's face that shake Martin's,  both fighters are good finishers they just need to land one big punch and its all over, whoever gets his punch first will win the fight, Ortiz's legs are questionable in his last fight he stumbles a lot even when hit by a job, so I'll go for Ruiz on this fight the winner of this match deserves to be a contender for the heavyweight belt.

I think Ruiz will win this fight. Ortiz is old. That's my first consideration. But Ortiz can punch. He can put an opponent to sleep. But I cannot say that he still has that power in his hands. Probably he's still got it, but he definitely has a lower limit now. He can't throw a number of them with his age.

But Ruiz on the other hand has been inactive for more than a year. And since he's given an Ortiz as an opponent, he could be doing a worse training than when he was about to face Joshua the second time around. So he might not be the strong Ruiz in this match. Ortiz still has a chance.

Not sure why Ortiz is still fighting as his age, I mean this is the Heavyweight division, sooner or later those wear and tear are going to show up. Although I will agree that he won his two last fights after he was KO by Wilder in 2019, but those two fighters also hit him hard. Against Charles Martin he was twice, rounds 1 and 4. Imagine what will a power puncher like Ruiz will do to him if he hits him solid in the chin with all the force, it will be quick KO win for Ruiz.

The issue is now with Ortiz is obviously his age, but he can still throw those bombs though, and you don't know, maybe it will hit Ruiz somewhat and put a dent on his chin. But then again, Ruiz is also a hard hitter, we've seen what he has done to AJ on their first fight.

Yeah, most likely under 10.5 round for this fight. As both will try to make a slugfest early, contest as to who will hit the homerun first. So I also see Ruiz winning by stoppage maybe in the mid to round 10.

if both are active, even if ortiz is now 43, he can still put up a very good fight. so yeah, ruiz should not underestimate ortiz here because of his age. it may have a slight influence if ortiz is not active for years. ruiz can take advantage of being the younger blood here but should prepare as hard as he can because it is no easy fight for him.
early odds is showing ruiz as the highly favourite to win here. so if you are rooting for ortiz, this is a very good chance to place bet on him being the underdog of this fight.

Have you seen his physique now? He looks really fit for the fight following a strict diet. I don't now how else he could be more completely focused than that. He also said in his interview that he's been watching a lot of King Kong fights. We already know his hand speed and the power he has in his punches but yet to see his movement with a much lighter body. I'll take him over Luis.

The only reason i do not want to pick Andy Ruiz is because he is not fully focused on his training after the Anthony Joshua win because fame and money has derailed his focus and changed fight camps and i am not sure where he has settled now and who will be overlooking his preparation and on the other hand Luis Ortiz is a knockout fighter and the only disadvantage he got is his age and most probably that will have an affect on his speed. Will pick the fighter closer to the bout as i want to see how Andy Ruiz is preparing for this fight and then make a decision.

On the one hand, your argument and reasoning are quite convincing. Of course, as we all know, with heavyweights and equal boxers like Ruiz and Ortiz, anything can happen. I think this will be an exciting match-up for both Andy Ruiz and Luiz Ortiz has a good record both have more than 30 wins and both have only 2 losses, this is the 1st time these two would fight, to simply put it Andy Ruiz for his size has the speed in those punches and has accuracy as well that would like to be his advantage but for me, Luiz Ortiz got the power, he can simply put out Ruiz with just a good combination this could be very difficult to predict fight in my opinion

Andy Ruiz's great fight in my opinion was his win against Anthony Joshua back on Jun 1, 2019, it was a very great fight from Ruiz Anthony Joshua has the height and reach advantage but Andy Ruiz is pushing Joshua away, and I think that is very legitimate, that Andy Ruiz surely has the upper hand, on their rematch that could be a win for Ruiz but yeah he underestimated Joshua in their rematch,

Luiz Ortiz's great fight was with Charles Martin king kong was knockdown by Martin in the 1st round and so Charles Martin thought he can get the upper hand but Luiz Ortiz was having the advantage over rounds 4 to 6 but in Round 4 Ortiz was dropped down again but was smiling again it's like he is saying OK good job while on round 6 Ortiz got a good shot on Martin he was wobbled on the 2nd knockdown of the round 6, then the referee stops the fight

For me based on their performance, I think I like Andy Ruiz's technique with that fast pace shots I think he can get a clean hit on Luiz Ortiz,

This is Ruiz's biggest test if he is ready for another crack at the heavyweight title, he should not underestimate Kingkong Ortiz this guy has knockout power, and his recent win against Martin shows how resilient he is, I thought Ortiz will lose the bout because he was down and outboxed by Martin until he hit Martin with a big shot, Ortiz is very dangerous even when he is being hit by big shots, Ruiz should prepare for this fight he should not consider Ortiz's age which is now 43 years old.

He really given a chance to prove himself once again and Ruiz was really promising fighter given that he managed to knock out the champion himself back then and beat him to win the belt, he can still be a star in the heavyweight division when he will show the world how heavy his punch to beat Ortiz in their upcoming fight. Looks like this is really a comeback fight for him because he hasn't been around since he lost his last fights, coming back as a 100% healthy heavy puncher will boost his chance to make a comeback.

He will be serious in crying excuses that he is out of shape after losing AJ. He still struggles fighting with Arreola while he wasn't that fat anymore. He always have the excuse whenever he lose. A reason that he may win this match is because Kingkong is already old and fat. This is like a battle of big guts actually but yes Ruiz still have the faster hands between them.

Ruiz is probably the most mismanaged boxer after knocking out Joshua he mismanaged his training and eventually lost against Joshua in their rematch, his last fight is not good either against Arreola not the kind of fight that will make him a hot item again, so he really need to win this fight he is still at his prime at 33, I think he is more serious now.

On Ortiz, this could be his last card to get a title shot for the last time he is already 43 years old after his failed two title shots against Deontay Wilder, he is in the twilight of his career if not for a knockout win against Martin people could write him off.

Both fighters need the win so whoever wants it most will win it, for me, Ruiz has a better chance here he is a young fighter hungry to get back on track again.

This is the fight of the hard hitter both fighters are on a comeback trail to have another crack at the World Heavyweight Champion, for me this bout is almost even but I take Ruiz to win this fight as he has fresh legs and wants to prove that he still has what it takes to win a title again, I expect the bout to end early as both fighters are known to be a hard hitter.
