Russia banning BTC is old news. It has very little effect on btc.

Last year when China banned Bitcoin we had an all time high price. Fueled by Chinese buying bitcoins.
The Chinese started to attempt to more strictly enforce the ban on bitcoin shortly before we saw a pretty severe price decline (that was likely caused by Chinese selling).

I don't think the russian market for bitcoin was really ever very big so I don't think this will be a very big deal however it is certainly not something that can simply be ignored

Another topic does not match the reality. Russia didn't ban BTC. Maybe someday in the future although....

If i remember well the ath was when bitcoin was still ok in china and sites like baidu were starting to accept bitcoins.
The price plummeted when baidu and others dropped bitcoin because of the rumors that China is against it.

X Country banning bitcoin seems to no longer matter much, looks like everyone has learned after all those "china bans".

so if you're a Russian guy, keep the btc on an exchange, a reputable one. wipe computers.

go abroad on holiday, cash out via localbitcoins or bitcoin atms. put in a bank account, open abroad or keep safe in safety deposit whatever.

or put on paper wallet or thumbdrive and stash somewhere

there are lots of options. there is a big movement of Russians into crypto and mining, they ain't going anywhere, plus they're a very tough bunch, a relatively small financial fine won't stop people, considering how harsh some of their punishments are there
