It's the most logical thing to do in the current situation he was in than to start blabbering things that he just might regret saying in the future. Specially when millions of people are watching. So to avoid causing debates, he did the right thing and kept his mouth shut. Really quite easy to identify people that are intelligent.
As opposed to Jamie Dimon who can't keep his mouth shut and not comment about bitcoin. Better not talk because he doesn't know what would be the repercussion of his statement. And Russia then suddenly went hard lines against bitcoin. If he have said something to effect investors or Russia itself, I think we could see some accusing and blaming him for all the debacles and the sudden U-turn of Russia against bitcoin and cryptocurrency.
