Honestly, Bitcoin looks fairly unstoppable at this point (until the whales dump it into oblivion). If crypto is the future, then Bitcoin will survive as a form of digital gold. I know ppl say "bitcoin can't be silenced", but if it gets banned everywhere, then the price will never rise to what some believe it could be worth.

Bitcoin should implement some form of Privacy to handle situations like this stupidity man. It is totally stoppable in it's current form. ESP the mining
Is there a monopoly in mining again that would make a single government Ban of cryptocurrency mining to affect the whole of crypto mining? Since when the China the great country banned their miners from mining cryptocurrency and yet, it had no effect on the crypto industry, the market even started booming better.

Cryptocurrency has become a global coin already, and so long these disunity still exist among the nation of the world, there is no way there can be a uniform agreement by these government to ban crypto, which would have been the only way that crypto can die, when they uniformly all come together to declare it illegal and punishable under law, but without such agreement, crypto to the moon mate.

The way Bitcoin has penetrated so many countries, I think it has become so much impossible for any single government decision against it to affect it in anyway, no matter how great the country is, and not even U.S can stop it again. They say out of every rumor, there is an element of truth, I have once heard of Russia changing part of their reserves into Bitcoin, I thought it was just a rumor and would be impossible, now reading this about Russia Ministry of Finance trading with cryptocurrency, then is very obvious that Russia is so much in support of cryptocurrency.

If other countries like U.S does not take care, Russia will use crypto to take wealth and economic power away from them, and I guess U.S must have seen this too, which is why they are doing all their possible best to stop their citizen from engaging in crypto, which to me, isn’t a wise idea, this would have been the time for them to legalize cryptocurrency trading too.

Statistics show that more than 70% of Russians know bitcoin, which shows that Russia is one of the countries that care about crypto. I am not surprised that the Russian government will allow crypto transactions as a legal precursor. Using crypto also helped Russia avoid the dollar influence, thus reducing the effects of US sanctions.

So many countries have been banned bitcoin but it can still grow even more dude. Russian ministry was seeing an opportunity before the aonther country will take it and that's why they consider allowing the crypto trade.
It has got banned everywhere and those people are still coming for bitcoin today.

But I don't see crypto seems popular in Russia. Most crypto deals come from Southeast Asian countries like Japan, Korea and China

I think Russia is trying to shelter within the market by secretly supporting its own projects. They may also be considering shaping their own investment decisions, according to breakthroughs from other countries.

bitcoin is not about price, bitcoin is all about freedom that it gives to its users because it is censorship resistant which is what the "bitcoin can not be silenced" statement you quoted means.
the thing is, even if bitcoin were banned everywhere it wouldn't die. it still continue to exist strongly. but if bitcoin were banned everywhere altcoins would die instantly.

It's okay for the Russian government to allow trading of crypto, we have many of their citizens trading and mining bitcoin, they should have a government licensed or approved exchanges that are insured against hackers. Even if bitcoin gets ban anywhere in the world, investors will find a way around the ban and this will just be temporary.

It was a very smart decision of the Russian finance ministry. Because Russia is also one of the countries that contribute a large amount of daily volume in the crypto market. if the Russian finance ministries banned it, they still had a lot of trading and the finance ministry still could not control it.
they must accept this and start collecting taxes. It will be more reasonable strategy.

Many countries float proposals on bitcoin all the time. For good reasons (adoption IMHO) or for bad reasons (banning). Most if not all are just 'noise'.

I've been hearing Russia is going to ban Bitcoin or that India is gonna ban Bitcoin for more than a few years now, and nothing from either camp ever comes to pass.

In Russia for example, this may be the ONLY way that oligarchs and such on the USA ban list of seizing assets etc....to move anything outside of the country.

It has too much use for the powers that be, at least in Russia. Now India, however, you maybe could ban Bitcoin at least on paper if not in practicality. But

the adoption rate (I think) is nowhere near as high.

Anyway, how this has shaken out since 2013 and year by year from what I can tell. More or less the same song since than...lots of talk..little in the way of even

feeble attempt to control Bitcoin.

Currently crypto trading in Russia is banned by law. The duma is discussing about a draft bill on Digital Financial Assets. The name of the draft itself tell that the bill is going to be friendly towards crypto. But what level of freedom the crypto trading would have is still a matter of debate.

Russia has been a proactive authority in devising law to regulate crypto in a better way. Crypto did have helped the country counter the Embargo and it does own a favor for cryptocurrency. AFAIR they were the first to tax miners and regulate the operation of mining farms. A regulated crypto is better than a banned crypto.
