everyone STOP and please read

hopefully the large text caught your attention..

all of this russia drama is not about simply using bitcoin... its about running a bitcoin exchange business without registering as a licenced money exchange business..

"simplified identification" is the main translated words everyone forgets to reseearch... its all about registering as a money exchange business..
you know the same situation with US, UK, and every other country

However, the footnote for the clause even proposes to free a person from adminstrative responsibility in case of “using assets subject to being classified as money surrogates by a person being identified or being under the process of simplified identification”. In other words, even in case the government legally dubs cryptocurrency a money surrogate, a person will still bear no responsibility of using it in case he or she provides their identification data.
....
Issuance of money surrogates without statement of person or persons performing such issuanse, and/or should such issuance is not provided for in the legal codes of the Russian Federation, or is performed in violation of procedures established under the legislation of the Russian Federation,

the punishments are not 7 years imprisonment/millions of rubles for average joe in their basement either..
its a small civil fine for individuals
a medium fine for small businesses
and a massive fine for large corporations
imprisonment if the non-registered money exchange business is doing the bitcoin exchanging for terror, drugs, or other internationally recognized illegal activities.

now can you all chill out and atleast do some proper research before spamming nonsense to gain an extra post for your sig campaigns

I have been reading for years now, how Russia will ban bitcoin, put bitcoin users on jail, and in general a lot of fear regarding the use and possession of bitcoins, but if you look at the volume of rubles being sent to bitcoin exchanges, it's only growing, rendering the government useless on their attempt to stop bitcoin on their country.

A bill prepared by Russia's Ministry of Finance targeting the creation and circulation of so-called money surrogates, a classification that would include digital currencies like bitcoin, has been at least temporarily withdrawn from consideration following comments from the country’s Justice Ministry.

As reported by regional news source RNS last week, the bill – popularly known as the "Russian bitcoin ban" – received some negative feedback after the Justice Ministry is said to have objected to the bill on the grounds that its comments were not incorporated. The national legislature, the Duma, has been deliberating the bill since earlier this year.
