After the bad news coming from China, we are hoping that this good news spewing from Putin's regime can be the good news the market is looking for. e will see that in the coming few days if there is a Putin Effect on cryptocurrency. But seriously, I can sense that Russia wants to be the Bitcoin hub in that side of the world and it knows the potential of cryptocurrency vis-a-vis its economy. This comes at some compromises though as there would be strict laws and regulations to be followed by all players. This is indeed much better than the ban produced by China.

Apart from hacking - Russians had a lot of effect hacking MtGox, and possily other hacking events. Russia's main contribution is crime.

I'm talking market and nothing else.

Russians are of course a significant and unwelcome contributor to the crypto space in the main. Most of the alts scams come from there as do all those lovely hacks. I love a sweeping generalisation, me.

Russia has talked shit so many times that I don't think anyone involved in crypto will be inclined to believe anything they say any more. Let's see some actual legislation put in place and then judge. Russia has never had any Bitcoin significance anyway so this isn't the most staggering news imaginable.

At the same time, Russia is arresting people who trade cryptocurrencies:

https://www.cryptocoinsnews.com/russia-makes-its-first-arrests-for-illegal-bitcoin-trading/

Quote
Police in Russia arrested three men last week, charging them with illegally trading 500 million rubles (around $9 million) worth of bitcoin, the first criminal case against bitcoin sales in the country, Vedomosti reported.

Nothing that happens in Russia makes any sense - they keep talking about legalising and then banning cryptocurrency over and over. And arresting people.

lol did u even read it?
Did you even get on whats his point?I bet you don't.  Grin Hes quiet opposing on the subject on the op on which Russia did even arrest on those people who did make bitcoin transaction but I do still understand their part but how comes it become illegal? Talking on the news if Russia would decide to legalize crypto then I would say it can give impact into this crpytoworld but for now I'm little bit tired on this kind of news.

Just announced a few hours ago.  Despite the current down turn this surely has to lead to some substantially bullish momentum.

China bans cryptocurrencies,Russia allows cryptocurrencies....
There is something wrong about this.Perhaps the russians would want to gather all the cryptocurrency funds that will run away from China and use cryptocurrencies to get thru the western penalties.
I`m expecting the bitcoin price to return back to 4500 USD after this good news.

I do find the frequency of flip flopping government proclamations at the moment rather suspicious.  People are definitely playing the market.

Pretty sure Bitcoin would already go back to $4600 just from when the market has calmed down / the china stuff gets clarified.

But thats great russia news, time to buy more WAVES. I can see it go *100 short term.

Also note china is very interested in manipulating real currencies as the USD, so that may be part of their mindgames.
