If you go into amd settings, click gaming tab, then click general settings the newer drivers have an option for compute like nvidia did for the 9xx cards. Boosted my hash rate from 23 -> 31.5 with modded bios.

Which driver are you using? It is possible that at night the system automatically updated the driver to the graphics card and the speed fell.
For the best result, in addition to changing BIOS timings, you still need to configure the card in OverdriveNTool. This will increase the hashrate and reduce the power consumption of the graphics card.

I didn't check which driver currently installed. But reinstalled amd blockchain driver and now 28 Mh/s again (:
I disabled windows update service.
Thank you.

I am just testing card. I will buy more if it run stable.
There is no error on claymore log file. already tried restarting.
I did not changed anything on afterburner. just updated gpu bios with polaris's one click auto setup.

I bought a new msi rx 580. stock hashrate: 22 Mh/s
updated bios with polaris. and get 28 Mh/s. Miner was stopped when i wake up.
I started miner again and it was only 22 Mh/s.
All I see is when 28 Mh/s afterburner shows 144 watt gpu power, when 22 Mh/s gpu power 132 watt.

I had the same problem with my R9 380. Every time I restarted the miner the hashrate was 20+ Mh/s, but then it dropped to 17-18 Mh/s. Mine was badly flashed.

Claymore stopped working with an error, or did nothing happen in the window of the miner? You can try to restart the PC.
With what parameters you start Claymore. What are the Afterburner settings?
