In the future, I would suggest bidding on an item you're satisfied with the starting bid rather than trying to buy it for a lower price via PM Smiley

Good advice. I don’t think it was necessarily a problem for him to try to get a deal via PM though. He should have however bid when his offer was refused if he was interested in doing so. Instead he gambled that nobody would bid and he would be able to use that as negotiation leverage. The gamble didn’t pay off, and the opportunity to own the item was lost. You can’t cry over spilled milk as they say.

TL;DR
Nothing to see here.

KY Jelly's radar is often better than one might think, I've seen them rightfully call out some very well hidden scammers early on before the "masses" were aware.  That said, this case does not apply.  Rx is under no obligation , ever, if there are no bids.  Even if they put up an auction and received a "buy it now" offer via PM, they would still be in the right cancelling the auction while no bids are present imo.

( For the record Rx did ask me to be in his circle jerk'n club..but I passed.  So no bias here in that regard)

Look - I can see what he is saying but I think it is ungrounded - no one was bidding, two people made offers and you - like any sane person - took the best offer.

I have bought from both FFrankie and rxalts and have zero issues with either one - so I don't want to hear any shit about being in some stupid 3rd grader "circle jerk".

The only other way might have been to tell them both to put their bids in the auction - but FFrankie's was too low, so he would have had to step it up - rxalts already said he got no response when he declined the offer - So I see no way on he could have possibly "known" that FFrankie would bid - I mean if he was gonna bid, why bullshit around with making a low ball offer - just bid.

At the end of the day - there is no way to make everyone happy, but come on, I am pretty sure rxalts is not trying to screw anyone over here. There is no need to digress to name calling and bully tactics. It is a good way to just get yourself excluded from any of their future auctions/raffles --- I have seen a few already that are on the exclusion list, I doubt FFrankie wants that. So, suck it up buttercup, put your big girl panties on and stop trying to create mountains out of mole hills.

Or maybe these other users on forum are just sharing their honest and fair unbiased opinion? I have a feeling you're the type that if there were still no bids and I lowered the starting bid to 0.13 you'd be ecstatic and have no problem, but if I raised the starting bid to 0.16 you'd have a fit.

If you would have made me the same identical offer via PM with no bids on the auction, I would have accepted it as well. Nothing to do here with preferential treatment. The fact is you PM'd and offered me 0.015 LOWER than the starting bid and someone else PM'd me and offered me 0.015 ABOVE the starting bid, so I don't really see how you feel cheated here.

Stop using some paranoid excuse that people are out to get you on auctions so you wait until last minute to bid as this is simply not the case, however if you continue to make these type of assumptions on a public forum then it will probably start to happen Smiley

My first PM to you was I hope it says in my budget, my second PM is an offer since nobody bid. This is bullshit you knew I was going to bid.

why would anyone bid before its over and drive up the price?

By that logic we should just run 1 hour auctions with 1 hour extensions? lol.

What about the other user who wasnt in your circle jerk, who got negative trust because they were hosting auctions and than canceling them deleting the info in the topic and moving the topic? THAT was okay since they werent your friend.

I love a good conspiracy too but.. you are wrong. Fattcatt (and their alts) were hosting auctions AND got valid bids and THEN decided to cancel/disappear. Very different.

This is an interesting post, especially after your last PM to me was asking if I would sell the coin for 0.13 if I did not receive any bids to which I responded no and did not hear back from you. That doesn't really sound like you were going to bid if there were no other bidders. As others have commented, an auction with no bids can be ended at anytime as is the case on any auction site as well. I would never cancel an auction with bids on it. In the future, I would suggest bidding on an item you're satisfied with the starting bid rather than trying to buy it for a lower price via PM Smiley

Thank you to everyone who has commented on this as well Smiley I would merit you all but I only have 2 sMerit so I have sent to the 2 non-legendary members  Grin

Oh and please lock this topic as this is not necessary, I would be glad to discuss with you by PM further if you feel the need. Thanks.

Are you kidding me? you cancel an auction because there is no interest? and nobody is going to call you out. what a joke

I was going to bid, I even PMed you I was going to bid so you cant say there is no interest

if you dont want something selling for the opening bid of an auction thats the risk you take when you auction it.

How is it different from this? https://bitcointalksearch.org/topic/m.17095353

Nobody bid in your auction and you said you'd keep it.

Unless mistaken he closed it after it would have ended.

Totally missed that  Grin

KY - Why do you constantly try to stir shit up? This isn't much different than you "whining" about OG selling gold at under spot, now is it? If you really had the $ and the nuts, you would have just bought the gold and bid on the auction, but you didn't - You did what you always do - Look for a reason to fuck with people here for no apparent reason..

Unless there are bids.... canceling seems like a perfectly acceptable option.   I would have done the same thing as rx in this situation.  The auction had NO bids.  They were offered more than the opening bid and rx felt it to be an acceptable offer.  I'm not sure what you are bitching about TBH?

Siding with RX here. Similar to a raffle with no bids, cx an auction with no bids is acceptable. If you would like to reach out to RX after his no bid auction is cancelled with offers, that seems to be perfectly reasonable also.

If there are no bids, there's no obligation to keep the auction running. If you wanted to bid, you should've probably done so.

I would say that if someone made a offer over pm they should have made the offer in the auction - some people dont bid first they always counter bid after someone else bids first.

That said, I think rxalts has the right to close an auction if he chooses to. Especially if there are no bids but I would have liked it to stay open as well - I was unsure of the value so would have liked to see the bidding war that would have ensued once the first bid was made.

If you have no bids in an auction you are free to cancel it at any time, don't be salty and get your bids in early next time.

Archive this thread and move on, no need to start shit for nothing.
