Seeing as the Ryzen 7 series cpus are pretty good at mining im curious to know what coolers you guys are using to keep the thing at a decent temperature?

Ive got parts on order to start my second hobby rig with a 1700X  (this one is all amd, first rig is intel/nvidia) and looking for an am4 compatible top down flow cooler that wouldnt take up much space. I dont want to go AIO due to mounting the rad somewhere on the aluminium frame it will all be mounted on.

So, whos got what coolers and getting what temps?
Honestly, I can use any cooler. To be more precise I could have used it when I had my old refrigerator. Now it has become a little more difficult for me, since I have my own pastry shop and it is clear that the refrigerator is the most necessary equipment in my kitchen. Well, that's the problem. My refrigerator (it looks like this ianboer.com.au ) it only fits one cooler that comes with it in the kit, but if my refrigerator breaks down, I will have to order a new part over the Internet, if I can find it. So I can tell you that the most difficult household appliances is a refrigerator, with so many problems with it, it's just terrible.

Cheers guys. Nice to know that even the 1700x doesnt run too hot. Im looking at the evga CLC with 120mm rad for space saving. Im hoping seeing as its an open air frame similar to parallel miners 6.1 frame and the ambient room temp is around 20c it will be ok.

Absolutely no need to buy an expensive cooler to mine, for example, cryptonight coins. Stock cooler maintains a low CPU temperature.

Keep in mind cryptonight doesn't hammer the CPU.  Look at your usage.  It doesn't use hyperthreading.  This is a good thing in that it runs efficiently.  Nice and cool.

If you try to mine zcoin for instance it will fly up in temps.

Got ryzen 5 1600 , 510H/s  , OC to 3.8ghz , 8 threads.

Wraith spire cooler (stock)

Ambient temperature in room 18-20c

Cpu runs at 44-46 celcius while mining.

So yeah like others have said the stock cooler aint bad at all, and very silent even at 70%

Default Ryzen 7 1700 cooler.

95W cooler on a 65W CPU, you can't be wrong.

Not overclocking, power consumption will increase exponentially, and I don't trust an overclocked CPU to run @ 100% load 24/7.

Always stable at low fifties ºC.

I use stock cooler for my r7 1700, mining cryptonight at 520H/s, very cool.

Anyone using a CLC/AIO cooler on there ryzen 7?

Yes, I have a 1700 and a 1700X both on AIO coolers, the 1700 is on a 120mm radiator (Corsair H60) and the 1700X is on a 240mm radiator (CoolerMaster MasterLiquid Pro 240). The 1700 actually runs a little bit cooler, even with the smaller radiator due to it being a lower wattage CPU.

I am running a 1700x with a Cryorig H7. It's running at 66 degrees stable. I did have to send a request to Cryorig to send me an AM4 mounting bracket for free though.

Updated the first post  Wink as its the 1700x ive got on order. Couldnt resist for the slight price difference. Ive got a phanteks ph-tc12ls on the intel rig but thts only an i5-7500t (35w tdp) so runs at 45c under full load. Id like the same cooler for the 1700x but cant seem to find an am4 mounting kit and phanteks havent got back to me.

The stealth/wraith cooler that comes with the Ryzen 1700 is more then enough for mining with that CPU or any of the Ryzen 3/5 series. We have several of them and they run very cool. For the 1700X or 1800X that draw more power you may want to get an aftermarket cooler if you plan to overclock at least. I do have a 1700X in my personal desktop but it's on H20....  I believe Noctua makes a top down air cooler that is AM4 compatible and would be pretty good.
