Just visualised another forming s-curve (or a cascade of such) that might be worth mentioning:

We are in vertical adoption phase, in case you hadn't noticed.

Just look at dollars traded.

Question is when it saturates.

We are not at a verticle adoption phase, or if we are we are at the early early stages.

If Bitcoin survives, the vertical adoption phase is going to make this last $200 rise look minute.

I agree. We have a whole lot more to go and bitcoin is still extremely tiny. From RunToBitcoin.com:

Honestly I loved the first ten minutes of this and would love it to be true but it's not (yet. Well it is but...) We're not rats running free on an island or a website anyone can log into or mobile phones (did he mention mobile phones? he should've)

We're superrats on facebook with mobiles tweeting the fuck out of those mofo bitches.

(sorry got a bit carried away there at the end)

No but seriously we're not at critical mass, critical mass comes with mass adoption. We're still quite early but we're accelerating so I do think his underlying theory is right but people are taking it as meaning we're in the vertical phase now when if we zoomed out in 5 years we'd hardly notice today's ath

i had a dream not too long ago that a chart had a dip, and then a rapid rise, and a new normal.

it followed the s-curve pattern.

was it for bitcoin? i don't know. but I got my mind on my BTC and BTC on my mind.

Makes sense, we are still at the make or break stadia, however make looks more and more likely every day. As long as adoption continues and nothing huge intervenes, theres no reason why bitcoin wont follow the same curve.

Actually I buy it. At least it makes sense to me. Maybe we the ones who entered to the bitcoin world this late year are still to make a lot of money in the long run.
But just like the video says that there can be a catastrophe that kills most of the rats population, maybe bitcoin can also have a catastrophe, for example governments legalize it or feature quantum computers make our cryptography useless.

I saw this linked elsewhere and it's a good watch about the S-Curve for technology adoption: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qHUPPYzzZrI

The network affect should encourage adoption similar to Google, Facebook and Twitter, so the case for an S-Curve has legs, IMO.

Assuming we will have S-Curve adoption, I wonder when it will arrive? Are we already at the start of it? The next few years could see value appreciate in a near vertical fashion, before tapering off again.
