Just undervolt, wire your exhaust fans in series and replace the 2 front fans with regular S1/S3. You can run it at around 1.7Th/s and it won't overheat and it will be quiet. Loudest will be the stock PSU inside the unit.

Hi,

Has anyone built an exhaust enclosure for an S4? I've got one coming and plan to put it in a spare bedroom but concerned about the noise aspect. I was thinking about building a enclosure for the back end of the miner with some acoustic ducting to try and reduce the noise.

Anyone have any ideas?

Thanks.

You can build an enclosure but I would look for quieter miners to run  instead.  The S4 just is a big miner with noise.  It has a big PSU causing noise, and multiple fan's with noise.

It's easier to just get a miner that is quieter when buying miners.  But if you already bought it yes it can be done.  But it's going to take some work and still could be louder then you want in a bed room.   I had one in my bedroom during my first testing and it was loud I do remember that.

Yeah acoustic panels would help a lot and you could have tubes bring the exhaust strait outside. If your ambiant is cold enough, you could use the low fan speed firmware, but the S4's i've had in the past do not like 62C+ temps.
