When you install S7 miner without a firewall, router or something you should at least:
1. Change the UI password
2. Change the ssh password
3. Prohibit access to cgminers API (! this will keep out btcpool.loredo.tv or any other hack)

1. Change the UI password

2. Change the ssh password

Connect to S7 using ssh (default pass will be admin or root ):

Code:
ssh root@IP_OF_THE_MINER

Then type:

Code:
passwd

Now enter you new ssh password

3. Prohibit access to cgminers API

from ssh command line type:

Code:
vi /config/cgminer.conf

Modify line (press i to enable modification in vi ):
"api-allow" : "W:0/0" to

"api-allow" : "W:127.0.0.1"

(press ESC then :x to save the changes)

Then go back to UI and reboot the miner.

have you been able to fix/lock out the hacker?

the miner being hacked would be the least of my concerns i would be worried that other computers on that network are compromised and personal info could be stolen.

ya. thats not right.

have you tried doing a power cycle/hard reboot. Or resetting back to stock?

resetting to stock with the button on the front next to the ethernet jack might be your best best.

did you buy it used recently? perhaps the previous owner had customer software on it?

what kind of security do you have on your network? is your wifi open?

I have bought it from Bitmaintech

Not resetting yet. Just changed the pools url and it works for about 1 / one day and then changed like this.

The Wifi Network is safe with WPA2

I have no idea how it was hacked so !!!!!

Thanks bro

I have the same problem with my Pi and the bfgminer... then i make a new "save root" pw, after one day the same....  Huh Huh

Code:
3: Enabled Strtm Quota 1 Pool 3: stratum+tcp://btcpool.loredo.tv:8443 User:axe.worker1

i would try resetting the machine back to stock.

perhaps doing a flash upgrade as well.>>>> no no no no

might want to change the static ip of the machine as well. seems like someone has been able to get into your network.

might need to reset your router admin password to something new/tougher.
depending on the software i always try and max out the allowable char just to make it harder/longer to crack.

check any/all computers that are connected to the network they may have been compromised and thus allowing someone to tunnel in and which your settings.

try the easy way first  just write your pools back in.

then set a longer password  to the miner like :

it-is-not-root!@#fuckyouhackers   < but do not use this one

I say do this and  watch to see if you get hacked again.

Also what router do you have in your home   are you hooked to it with wifi or with ethernet cable

do not flash firmware no matter what  :

you were hacked and the hacker may be smart and able to  brick you miner if you flash firmware to it.
