While Bitmain warranty service doesn't appear to be all that good, what's the warranty like on an S9 purchase via Aliexpress? Anybody have thoughts or experience with items there?
Pretty nice. Last time I bought from China was for a PSU and an S7, and they offer very good shipping and they have SUPER low prices. While their miners are not the cheapest(especially the Antminers), they do offer pretty cheap used Gridseed miners and even the occasional stickminer and U3. They also offer the S3++, which is supposedly a chain S3- it sounds nice, and would be a nice collector's item.

I buy for many $ at Aliexpress, service level is damn good and if you reach level 4 as a purchaser you get in front line. I just bought 50 pcs Bitmain PSU 1600w B2 for 25$ less or unit than Bitmain. Their claim system works very well and the protection level is much higher than Banggood and other Chinese sites like Ebay.

the s9 may work for you if you power cost is 5 to 8 cents per kwatt USD based money.
If you are over 8 cents USD per kwatt maybe not.
If you are at 12 cents USD per kwatt most likely a loser.

Phil... In many different contexts you referred to them as cheap. Just for clarification, I assume you are referring to cheap in terms of potential market demand but not ROI, correct?
Roi is next to impossible if they sell tons of s-9s fast.
There is zero need for an ASIC war as they are the only ones with guns so to speak.
They are the only company with .1 watt miner.
So they can sell slower .
Selling 1000 units in 12 hours for 2.7 btc means they underpriced it in terms of demand.
1000 units in 36 hours at 3 btc is better for them. I'm convinced they will do what they think is best. For bitmaintech my plans as to what is best for bitmaintech mean nothing.
I see a lot of moves they can make. They purchased block trail. A few other things were done.
But 1000 s-9s are 13ph less then 1 % .
Still they set a lower price floor on the s-9 for no reason that I can see.

looks like if there really were 1000 units sold they were sold via bank transfers.
