They are expensive simply because there are in demand right now. And people are willing to shelter out premium money to get their hands on it. Even one posters said that he know someone who bought it at a higher price.

As for the OP, yes, I'm more willing to buy at that price because I'm willing to invest on something that will give me financial gains in the long haul.

There are a lot of experts miners there that can surely answer your questions. Well for me the price is too steep but I guess you have money to burn. Plus there are lot of factors that you should take into account, specially ROI. If you have done your homework already then I guess its gonna be worth at the end.

I know a person who bought antminer s9 for 5600$. so its not the highest price. IMho wait for new models of asics and order them.

You can paying way too much if you pay $4500 for an S9.

Thanks for the reply, I do understand the supply and demand thing. I can order cheaper from bitmain but will be the march order. The price is HIGH because it is IN-STOCK and the demand is high.

I will check around again and see if any MFG have any sooner if not I guess I will have to wait until march.

S9 doesn't worth $4750 it was around $1,300 for pre-order about a month ago at the antminer website and they raised to $2,320. Sold out most of the time. BTC's difficulty is so high and BTC price is only at 11k. Not a good time to over pay for it.
