You are totally correct for default OCs, but he underclocks them really hard, it could be viable to use AC with a single hole (let's say 10cm2) and small industrial fan.

He can reduce power consumption by a modest 30-40% but that will result in a much lower hashrate, the more efficient the less the hashrate, and since his power is free and most likely very limited he should utilize the power used by ACs to run a few miners instead, the only scenario in which he would be forced to use an AC would be for noise reduction where a large hole in the wall with a large duct fan attached to it will be noisy.

Without actually forcing hot air out, we talking (1250w*4)+ (3200w), which will require a very huge air-con system, which is a bad idea IMO.

Use a Y duct with an incline duct fan, and rest assured that the AC hole won't be large enough, the standard hole saw we use here is 6.5cm, you will need to widen it by a lot.

For default OC or even overclocking above that, I would recommend some really good industrial fan with high m3/h flow and good pressure. Avoiding AC is preferred as it adds additional cost to it as well.

I think you need to multiply the wattage by 3.41 to get the BUT/H, so you have 4*1250w S9 (default settings with Asicboost enabled) so that is 5000w +3300w for the M21s = 8300w*3.41 = 28,000 BTU/H, not sure what that will transfer to power consumption by the AC unit itself, but I think it will be around 3Kw depending on how efficient the compressor is, again please do more research.

Depending on OC that you are using a single hole and good fan should be fine. I'd advise against using AC but you COULD if you have no other options.

The power of AC should be equal to power used (=heat produced) by miners.

thanks Cheesy and how can i calculate the heat produced by miners in btu?

its s9 antminer and m21s whatsminer Smiley thanks.

thanks for your answer.

that would be, in terms of btu ac, how much? Sad thanks.

Hello guys Smiley i hope you can help me.

i have 4 s9 antminer and 1 m21s whatsminer, and ill put them in a friends home. there is a room with no windows. there was a hole for air conditioned, but now is sealed. but we can open it again.

is it better to just use one ac for cooling? or ducts to take out the heat? the electricity at least for the moment is cheap, so for that part there is no problem. also, what should be the potency of the ac?

thanks Smiley
