Hey sidehack - interesting, so you don't have datasheets either, great job re'ing those chips, respect! Just wondering: for the PCB design, did you then measure the pin sizes and spacings manually or did you find a document that I haven't found yet, specifying exact sizes?

regarding BM1384 I found only following datasheet and there is no some recommended connection. Do you have better also with connection diagrams ?

The 2Pac uses BM1384, which has an available datasheet. The designer *cough* might also have poked around an S5 board for an hour or two checking connections as a reference.

ok thank you for fresh information, but what I don't understand is that, how others companies or better to say other guys did a research and how they used the BM chips in their own miners and devices (2PAC 2xBM1384 USB STICKMINER atc....). It should be somewhere some circuit diagram or recommended connection of mentioned chips. I have seen just super-easy datasheet from Bitmain, but there is almost nothing useful.
Far as I know, copy of original PCB is not possible, because it is 4 or 6 layers desk and without drawing it is suicide. Then question is how they did it ? I saw some rumors about Russian guys who copied S9 miner.

As Sidehack said - ALL of the miner makers use their own custom-designed-by-them chips. Because only TSMC, Samsung, and GloFo are capable of actually making the chips using the designs supplied by their customers, in this case Bitmain, Bitfury, Canaan, et al, yes the manufacture of wafers holding the dies that go into a chip package is contracted out to them same as those made for Apple, AMD, Cisco, et al.

Bitmain designed the chip for their own use. All the major miner manufacturers do.
If I understood correctly, Bitmain its just the customer which has ordered mentioned chip somewhere (maybe Texas Instrument, or Semiconductor) and these companies distributed ASIC chips directly for Bitmain with name BMxxxx. Am I right or Bitmain is the direct producer/manufacturer of chips?
As far as I know, Bitmain has never published schematics or layouts for their miners. The last chip I saw with a public datasheet was the S7's BM1385.
I certainly wouldn't mind a BM1387 datasheet, but have yet to see one in the wild.

Or find a precise datasheet of BM1387 or BM1485 ASIC chips ?
