Would a card work better if the chip is at 40°C or rather 80 to 90°C?

The general thought is "the cooler the better", although as one member here tested before, if your miner runs too cool it will increase the voltage to keep the miner warmer and that will increase the power consumption, to me personally, I believe the S9 doesn't give a fudge, I have seen people run them above 100c for a very long time, I believe the 70-80c range is good overall, and anywhere below 90-95c is acceptable, don't worry much about the S9s, when they work, they are rock solid.

Ok it works 😉

Small question off topic, is there an optimal temperature operating range?

This is normal, the hashboard is dying, it will work for a while, then stops, sometimes a reboot brings it on for a while, and then it sleeps for a while, and so on, eventually, it will just die forever.

Hello,

This Sunday morning the card only displayed 28 Asics, then 0!
And all of a sudden she started functioning normally for 20 minutes with her 68 Asics!
I was under Braiins.
Then again 0!
I made the update that you advised me with the Bitmain interface, but I still have the same problem as soon as I am on the Bitmain software I have no feedback!
No fan speed, no visible card.
By cons as soon as I go under Braiins I see all the information.
That's all I'll hope she wakes up one day and stays awake!

Could the problem be with a faulty fan?
I feel like the card works every time I change the fan settings!
I tried several changes again but not restarted.
It's just an idea! 😉

Here is your last shot, flash this firmware >  Antminer-S9-all-201711171757-autofreq-user-Update2UBI-NF.tar.gz   I had some luck with it in the past,

I'll check with Zeus Mining for a used HashBoard and some other parts.
Looks to me like you told me about them in a post, are they good people?

They are trustworthy according to my experience, I believe a few other members here have bought of them and can vouch, but of course, you trade at your own risk.

Hello,

I followed your advice for frequency and voltage, but it didn't resuscitate the card.
I also tried autotuning under Braiins OS + all day but nothing.
I took the board apart in the afternoon, cleaned it with a special printed circuit product, put it back on, not much better! And suddenly after 20 minutes the card is set to work at its normal rate for 15 to 30 seconds and then back to zero!
I tried at the end of the day to repeat the experience, but unfortunately nothing.
I think the card overheated, at least when I received the miner the cards were filled with dust and covered with a thick layer of plaster dust!
I contacted the seller, he asked me to try it out and since there were no results he refunded me 1/3 of the price.
I'll check with Zeus Mining for a used HashBoard and some other parts.
Looks to me like you told me about them in a post, are they good people?

Anyway, thank you for helping me.

You did almost everything anyone would probably tell you to do, there is not much to be done here, it's not uncommon to see all 63 asics alive but 0 hashrate, sometimes reducing the frequency and/or increasing the voltage on that particular hashboard could bring it to life, so try that with Braiin'Os, if that doesn't work, I think you should stop wasting time and let the other two hashboards hash along.

Hello.

Yes indeed sometimes the translation does not mean much.

I have performed the update you requested. I have performed a lot of tests and the result is always the same, card number two seems defective to me. It is detected but does not mine, no working temperature sensor. I tried the faulty board with all the cables, on all three slots on the control board. I used the same three power connectors to test the boards one after the other, still the same result. Card one and three works well, but not two.

With a measuring device, the voltage is constant at 230v, the amperage is also constant. I tested each pin of the power supply with a voltmeter, all outputs develop between 12v and 12.5v.

I reset the control card to factory settings, but card number two still doesn't work: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6_4oxhVT6hg

I ran Braiins OS + on the SD card and even found card one and three = OK and card number two did not develop anything. For me it is well detected, but does not produce anything, the temperature is 15 ° C under Bitmain and 0 ° C under Braiins OS +. Despite everything, the front LED remains green.

As of today, for me card number 2 is defective. Attached is a screenshot from Braiins OS +, and a Bitmain after updating and setting to -2 Th/s.

I try the 1, 2 and 3 sets = OK

Do you mean board 2 works fine on its own but not when plugged in with either board 1 or 3? this line is a bit confusing, but i'd guess based on the system status on the image you uploaded is that you should flash different firmware, all your hash boards showing 63 Asics which is a good sign that either the firmware/control board or a PSU is causing the issue.

Try to flash this multi-option version (Antminer-S9i-xilinx-201907302056-autofreq-user-Update2UBI-NF-sig.tar.gz) from the official website and then try the different settings, start with -2th and see if you get any different results on your second hashboard.

Hello.

I have big concerns with the Bitmain S9i miner that I just bought secondhand, it's my very first.
In short, it lights up, starts up, the fans spin and start at full power. I feel heat coming out, then about 2 minutes later I have the Fault light coming on and it stops producing heat.

When I connect with the Ethernet cable I can connect to the miner, but no information comes up. I don't have the fan speed, or the temperature, nothing. I redo the update but nothing better. I tried with the Antpool and Slush Pool mining address but nothing either. I've watched a lot of videos and threads on the forum but still nothing. I've tried this kind of procedure, but it won't work: https://support.bitmain.com/hc/en-us/articles/360019493654. I've been trying a lot of stuff for at least 20 hours and I can't do it.

I made a static address on the Bitmain software and in my Box, but not better, I tried with several cables, still certainly a lot of things that I forgot! A yes also, I tested the power supply there is indeed 12v at all pins.

I badly need your help to find out if I'm doing badly or if the miner has a problem. If so, I will contact the seller. I bought it on EBay from a well-rated seller.

Thank you in advance.

Mickael

Problem solved, I tested the hashboard against each other.

The one alone = OK
The second alone = no mining
The third alone = OK
The 1 and 3 together = OK
I try the 1, 2 and 3 sets = OK

I really don't understand what happened. Yet I took it all apart, cleaned, tested again and again!

After an hour of mining everything works at least no LED Fault! But you will tell me what you think about it, but for me card number 2 does not work! If you see any other weird stuff please let me know.

Thank you.
