The red led in each hashboard is supposed to be on when its working, and off when its not. This led can sometimes fail for various reasons with the hashboard still hashing fine.

The red led in front of the miner can indicate various things, check the logs. If it works don't mind it.

If you already did all basic things then you have a defective/broken hashboard find the Chain[7] remove it temporarily and then let the miner run only two hashboard and let's see if it will run stable.

If the issue is still the same there might be an issue on the control board if not and it's running stable the Chain[7] is broken somewhere on the hashboard.

How did you manage to test the hashboard resistance? Do you have a diagram because there are some test points from the hashboard and a free diagram from ZeusBTC that you can follow? Follow the repair guide here https://www.zeusbtc.com/articles/information/171-antminer-s9-and-s9i-manual-download

Have you tried to upgrade the miner with the latest firmware available from Bitmain support? If not, try it first

If the result is still the same then try to flash it through an SD card you can find the SD card firmware here and then test it again.

Have also tried to swap the data/ribbon cable between the good one hashboard and the bad hashboard?
It might be just a ribbon/data cable that do not work properly replacing them might solve your case.

Yes i have the latest firmware from official bitmain website . I will try different ribbon as well. Also this happened when my psu fan stopped working and i assume from security the output voltage dropped down so i replace with a brand new and still doing the same. I'll update the results

Also as i said i test voltage and resistant mofsets capacitors etc everything working normally , my test fixture tester test is clear . Also i flash this hashboard pic hex with pickit3. Still the same. Do you think i might need a new psu?

I don't know how bitmain programmed that red light but I know from experience that it can be on for so many reasons that do not make any sense, I have seen boards that work perfectly but got the red light stuck on them, I would say just ignore it and focus on the miner status and kernel log.

At first thought, I believe it's a hardware-related issue, but the kernel log might reveal some more details.

Without the kernel logs, we couldn't analyze what exactly your miner problem is.

Better copy the whole kernel logs and post it here and make sure to use the # button to make your thread clean or use pastebin.com and paste the URL here.

Hello everyone,

One of my S9j's hashboard not showed up after a few minutes of hashing goes off , i test it with my text fixture and its working , also i measure resistant and voltage and everything is fine. I tried new PSU as well and its doing the same. Also if i plug in only this one its hashing normally and even when 3 are active the red light of this hashboard is on.

Any ideas?
