Want to support the Bitcoin economy, and vote for honest money, instead of the tyranny that comes from the central banks who have trained us to work for paper they can print without limit?

The #1 thing you can do, right now, without lifting a finger, is decide that you'll accept Bitcoins in exchange for your goods or services.  You only need to decide once.

I absolutely support your message.

My personal experience: all you need to do is accept BTC and let everybody know. Over time you will create awareness for BTC around you, people will ask and learn and after a while more and more of them will start using it. With a bit of luck you even get free media coverage.

This counts for all kinds of businesses, whatever you do.

If you do not run a business of your own: you sure know someone who does and who trusts you. Try to point them to Bitcoin and help them to adapt it.

Over in the German section of the forum we have discussed a concept we called 'Bitcoin angels'. A Bitcoin angel would be someone from the community who takes care of some business run by someone not familiar with Bitcoin and without the time / motivation / resources to learn about it enough to actually use it for his business. Their Bitcoin angel would help them install software and run it, explain things to staff, maybe organize the exchange back into fiat where necessary. Be there for them to answer questions or fix problems. It is less effort than it sounds like, after a while they gain the knowledge they need themselves anyway.

Not only do you help them and the community, it is also a good opportunity for everybody to learn and make their own experience in real world adaption.

Joe

SELLER ACCEPTS BITCOINS

Want to support the Bitcoin economy, and vote for honest money, instead of the tyranny that comes from the central banks who have trained us to work for paper they can print without limit?

The #1 thing you can do, right now, without lifting a finger, is decide that you'll accept Bitcoins in exchange for your goods or services.  You only need to decide once.

Add these three words to the next time you make an ad for anything for sale.

Selling something on Craigslist?  Etsy?  eBay?  Local classifieds?  Make sure it says Seller Accepts Bitcoins.

Distributing sales literature?  Make sure it says Seller Accepts Bitcoins.

For sale sign on your house or car?  Make sure it says Seller Accepts Bitcoins.

Wondering what exchange rate to use?  In most cases, the fairest is MtGoxLast at the time the Bitcoins are transferred, or the at the time the deal is otherwise considered final.  Feel free to stipulate that you won't accept Bitcoins during times of high volatility (24h high > 1.05*24h low) if your needs dictate.
