They released some more info about the Safepal S2 in May 2021. Among other things, the announcement says that the delivery of these devices is delayed.  They make it sound like the production is finished, they just can't deliver it yet. That surely not the case.

If you want to read the whole thing, here it is:

I couldn't find any more information about it and although I do own the S1 model, I don't think that SafePal could compete with Ledger or Trezor, regardless of its features. Not when both their software and hardware are closed source anyway.
Exactly. Also that it can not be used on open source wallet like Electrum, it can only be used with its own software on phone (not having computer version).

Safepal announced in 2021 that the new model of hardware wallet so called "S2"

will be in the market soon - since then we have not heard any update. Does anyone know anything about the new model ?

This is the announcement on March 2021:

4. SafePal S2
Embedded with the advanced SafePal security technology, SafePal S2 pushes the user experience to a new level. Compared to SafePal S1, SafePal S2 is built with a bigger battery and stronger features. Details will be disclosed soon.

For now, SafePal S2 is under mass production and firmware development. We hope to bring it to the community in early May. Stay tuned!
