Namecoin is a joke. Rroot DNS servers can't resolve .bit TLD.

What's wrong to .ch .se or .is domains? For hosting Bitcoin exchange they are perfectly suitable.

Check out Namecoin!

That is by far the safest of them all.

You don't need "tons of BTC" to register a .bit domain, just convert around 1 btc to nmcs via the bitparking exchange and you'll have enough nmc to register the domain (approximately).

That's pretty much the whole point of namecoin: to be able to register a domain name without any fear of seizure.

$20 to register a domain nobody will ever use? That's such a rip-off. It can be seized pretty easily by the makers of namecoin.

Glad to see you have faith in the namecoin system. Wink I'm sure the makers of Bitcoin can take your bitcoins pretty easily, too. Smiley

I agree that at current prices, almost 18$ is a lot, but the price of a new domain registration will drop as the block count increases.

Not any kind of illegal activity, warez etc.  Rather starting any kind of BTC business and BTC becomes labeled a commodity and subject to regulation.

.ru domains can be easily taken down by russian authorities. They now are cooperating with so called "international partners".

Depends on the content you are trying to host. If it's warez, probably .ir will do it.

Somewhere like .ru or cn probably (good luck getting a .cn without chinese help though).

You'd want to host your servers there too (or Sealand, perhaps).  'seizing' domains is uncommon (unless you've breached trademarks).  Shutting down servers and internet connectivity happens at the drop of a hat (or rather the drop of a C&D letter).

Any advise on where to register domains that cant be seized? Is india the safest? I know .bit is the best but its still early and I'm not an early adopter with tons of btc.

And yes i did google this, but im thinking specifically related to btc.
