im not keeping up with the updates so just go here >>>>> https://safe.exchange/c/updates

in the meantime the Safex migration has come to an end, round 23% of the old safe exchange coins did not get converted to safex tokens.
so the new supply is alot lower, round 1.65 billion safex token excist.

Safex is forking to the RandomSFX mining algorithm today. IF you run a node, don't forget to update to the latest version:
https://safe.exchange/t/important-safex-hard-fork-2nd-december-2019/6675

this will make sure the mining of safex cash(sfx) stays fair, and you can mine at home for a fair reward.

and as you can see in the updates the testnet for the marketplace is live atm, and will be continued to be updated and improved untill it will be released.

Safex Development Community Program

We have chosen 30 members to be a part of the beta tester group. To go along with that we have been sourcing Quality Assurance specialists to assist us in coordinating testing between developers and the tester community.

This will thoroughly increase quality and reduce the annoyances of breaking code. Of course not every single case can ever be covered however we will avoid the obvious mistakes, and also have a more structured and organized release strategy especially as we gear up for massive onboarding of users.

We’re preparing some final support documentation and aiming to open up the development discussion channels this week. If you’ve been accepted for this round of user testing you will receive an email.

SAFEX is freaking crushing it! Get in or get out of the way, nothing is stopping this rocket anymore!

What stands C-commerce for and what is so special about it compared to the traditional e-commerce?
This is the same question I am asking too, we see a lot of project here everyday saying that they have come out with a better method of how another project was done but they never tell us the method they come up with.

Can you please tell me how this project is different from the popular stories that raised millions of dollars for its eccoemorce store that was launched last year, like what is so special about your project because all I see is you trying to hype it but you can prove me wrong though.

found something on the safex discord as an example how safex is diffirent, (thanx Rich Bate safexnews.net):

the safex blockchain is a commerce protocol, in the sense that it can be liked to an engine for cryptocommerce projects to be built on. The first and main example is the Safe Exchange Marketplace, which will be the “poster child” for how the blockchain can be used.

This marketplace will be a native app, for Windows, Linux, Mac, etc, and eventually mobile apps.

However, it doesn’t stop there. The blockchain will have a wide variety of functions and APIs so software developers can link their existing projects to it and utilise all the functions necessary (arbitration, peer-to-peer transactions etc). This means, as a software developer, i could create a plugin to link my Woocommerce store to sync with my Safex MArketplace store.
So think of it like the Etherium of the cryptocommerce world.
The marketplace will be a big example of what can be done.... but there will be a whole developer ecosystem that are all using certain functions of the chain, whilst never even touching the main marketplace.

Will Bitcoin Reach $55,000 when the halving takes place? Why are EOS and Enigma surging? These are some of today's topics as well as the latest from SafeX, Charlie Lee and his opinions about the future of crypto and Litecoin, and if regulators are the biggest obstacle for crypto.

Safex Development Update - March 25, 2019
https://safe.exchange/t/safex-development-update-march-25-2019/5925?fbclid=IwAR24JgaaWkgv6yb-iTSt3KdMRfstchotO0cArESXGpw7qE2bg5zS0fnhrhc

Wallet - Standalone (Safex Cash/Token Only (No Migration or Bitcoin))
The last week involved polishing up the Address Book feature and some other fixes: such as a confirmation between the final send is made, this confirmation includes the fee that will be paid, and the amount of ring size. If you have irregular size inputs then you must reduce the ring size to make a transaction go through. This is not handled in the McAfee Miner which is incorporated in the standalone Wallet. We will add this new code to the McAfee Miner in the future, first we will finish up on the standalone Wallet.

The Address Book feature is tested on Windows, MacOS, Linux: so all is good in that case. We hope that this will be the last week of working on the Wallet before it is released.

Please note that this is not the well known v8 wallet: which is set for release some time later.

Safex Marketplace: Proof of Concept Phase
The past week has been work in progress on implementation of the database tables related to the new advanced utxo outputs. For this purpose Marko implemented an advanced testing scenario called SafexBlockchainDBTest that will assist development of the function stack for processing blocks and transactions with advanced outputs. Advanced outputs are those that contain instructions for locking in tokens, or making an account, selling items, leaving reputation, etc.

Additional updates to structures and definitions to accommodate the txout_to_script output type discussed in the previous paragraph.

Golang Libraries (v8 Wallet & Mobile Wallet Backend)

Stefan started working out fetching balances using the Golang libraries in addition to breaking into fetching data from the extra field. This mechanism is essential as all actions done on the marketplace will be handled by this library. So far balance checking is working in Golang. This week will continue with parsing and then transition to forming the transaction data for broadcasting, which translates into transfers of coins or selling items, making accounts, etc.

Also the past week has been work done to the randomness generator for new keys on the Golang side of things. So now we can accept user generated input in addition to system generated randomness for key creation.

Exchange Listings
I’ve been testing with Livecoin last Friday deposits of SFX and SFT. As soon as Livecoin is locked in and working I will approach TradeSatoshi for the conversion of SAFEX into SFT and list the SFX market.

On behalf of the Safex Development Community,
Sincerely,
Daniel Dabek

What stands C-commerce for and what is so special about it compared to the traditional e-commerce?
C-Commerce means Collaborative Commerce. It has a lot of transaction of business-to-business which involves a trading community or could be a segment of an industry. In this C-Commerce, the buyers and sellers use compatible software tools in their distribution and supply chain. Hence, C-commerce is sometimes viewed as an aspect of supply chain management.

Hi!

the idea (and work in progress) is to have a real marketplace with real adoption, not just some crypto niche.
The currency of the marketplace will be safex cash, this is a pow coin currently mined on the safex blockchain, this currency has a very different emission then any other crypto and this will be the reason the distribution will be more succesfull.
the second coin is safex token, this token you can lock in on the blockchain and receive safex cash based on the amount of marketplace volume.
for example :
Hodling 500,000 Safex is estimated to pay $14,552USD worth of safex cash per year
Based on trade volume of $1,000M USD and accounting for 20% of Safex not locked in.

so to react on your million dollar raised ico's.. in 2015 safex raised 50.000$ by selling 99% of all safex coin(it was still on the btc blockchain back then).
and that was it, no ico no nothing, just hard work by daniel Dabek. he started Balkaneum in 2017 , a software dev company. they are developing safex, but are also doing alot of other stuff to pay the bills.
so he owns balkaneum but not safex. cause safex can not be owned by anyone since its truly 100% decentralized and anonymous.

To me safex is different to lots of other project because of the passive income , anonymity, emission curve, decentralized marketplace, anonymous blockchain.

To respond to your final point about me hyping, this project will be no diffirent if you buy or not, i dont care if the price goes up or down.
The marketplace has to succeed and then the value will be there based on that. This will also make safex a crypto wich is no longer pegged to btc value,
the marktplace will be the thing that gives value doesnt matter if the market is bear or bull, btc at 1000 or a mill.
the passive income will only be pegged to the marketplace volume. no need for speculative prices or pumps.
this thread is just meant to keep people updated on a project i like, do with it as you please.

greetings!

Hi Everyone,

Been awhile since the last safex update here so i will start this new thread to keep you updated.
Safex started doing weekly updates again so i suggest you start reading up Grin

Wallet - Standalone (Safex Cash/Token Only (No Migration or Bitcoin))

The Safex Cash/Token wallet continued to undergo improvements based on feedback from internal testing which took place 10 days ago. So there was continuation of bug fixing on this wallet. We are focusing to make this an end all solution that is polished and won’t need updating for some time.

We also discussed making a limited beta test release with some community members to gather some more feedback beyond our team in Belgrade. Although a nice sized list of bugs have already been ironed out.

Additionally, Uros started linking up the transaction history feature from the backend. This is among the final features that went into production last week aside from the bugs discovered during more mass internal testing.

Note: this wallet is not the V8, it is a wallet exclusively for safex cash and tokens.

C++ backend for the Safex Wallet (Standalone version)

Stefan took time to expose and test the transaction history module that goes together with the Safex Wallet discussed above. It’s working on MacOS, Windows, and Linux successfully and now in production on the GUI of the wallet.

Safexd - Safex Node
On the Safexd side of things just some refactoring, documenting, and commenting code took place. As well as planning for extending the internal testing environment to better accommodate all of the modules we are now working on.

Golang Libraries

In the past week Pavle had furthered research and developed conclusive approaches to storing multiple keys in the badger DB that he implemented. This is in preparation for being able to host a wallet that has more than one master set of keys. It is usual for CryptoNote implementations to only have a single key or “account” whereas, we believe that there is an advantage to being able to wield multiple keys in the same the instance of the wallet GUI.

Documentation and description of the systems was also added to the gosafex repositories on Pavle’s specific branch.

Safex Marketplace: Proof of Concept Phase

Marketplace development took a strong turn in the past week. Marko, our lead developer on the marketplace protocol had been developing the base layer on which all commands for the marketplace will be processed.

He is applying the classic Command Design Pattern where the base command interface is defined in the abstract class and each particular command will inherit and specialize execution, serialization and other necessary functionality.

Essentially, this step provides the blockchain nodes a method of serialization and decoding of messages to be processed into the blockchain. And within the commands could be anything from sell items, to lock tokens, make accounts, among other features we can develop and implement on this foundational layer.

Comments on Recent Monero hardfork v10

We have made an assessment of the recent Monero Hardfork updates that took effect on Saturday. In the recent Monero hardfork there have been updates to the hashing algorithm. Since there Monero community has made a mandate to alter their system every six months: we have considered it and may include it in a future fork of our system.

Other changes that took place include: modification of the Block Weight algorithm since the Monero blockchain faced some issues of congestion, which currently do not affect us. It is a drastic modification, although we have it documented as a potential improvement we can incorporate in the future.

There are various speedups included in the Monero fork that we have documented and could include. A notable element is the addition of SSL for the RPC client. This is great because no longer is it necessary to set up a Reverse Proxy to support encrypted communications with a Safexd Node.

All of these changes that we find supportive to software progress we plan to incorporate in our Marketplace Update Hardfork in the near future.

Exchange Listing Fundraiser
So the exchanges.safex.io 47 fundraiser is concluded! Nice going everyone. We have opened dialogue with Livecoin.net 98 and are in progress to perform a listing there.

Catch you all next week :sunrise:

On behalf of the Safex Development Team
Sincerely,
Daniel Dabek
