It'll blend into the BP paved roads a bit.  Perhaps if there were a good contrasting release with which to pave.  Tongue  Where those silver pennies at?!

Maybe some war on fiat pennies, a la 1944 steel  Grin

If you have a 1944 steel penny they are worth around 100,000 USD as they are a rare error.  The 1943 penny was issued for circulation in steel, in 1944 they returned to traditional copper.

Well if its not an error coin who wants it  Roll Eyes  Whoopsie!  LC on top of everything.

I was truly hoping you had one of the 1944 steelies as there are some out there!

During our first year of BP (2015), we only minted the CJB mint mark. Before we released our 2016 coins, we had read about the hobby of coin roll hunting. We bought a few old one cent rolls and gave it a try ourselves. We were instantly amazed at all the little rare discoveries, and thought it might be a lot of fun to add a rare mint marked coin into every BP coin roll. That's the story behind the rare SN mint marked coins that we now hide inside every roll!

Here are a few of the coins we found in our coin roll hunting experiments, including a few indian heads, lots of old wheats, a mercury dime, some kind of old red plastic token, and two steel pennies!

Regards,
Chris

Really cool to see how the coins tone so differently depending on what type of environment they lived in.   Great photo and searching thru change for oddities can be both fun and rewarding.

Further question. so this isnt of the 10, nore the FS, will it be marked prototype? or P1?   is it a 1/1

This one will be hand-stamped with PROTO. No need for 1/1 in my opinion, but it does sound like a fun idea. Why not? Smiley

UPDATE: The copper prototype manhole cover is now SOLD.

Thank you again to everyone for your enthusiastic support for our little company and it's crazy projects! And remember, our new 2018 JULIE coins will be here in just a few short weeks! This is going to be our most exciting year yet, and it's all because of wonderful people like YOU!

Funny you should say that, Ticked. This summer, we are planning to announce our TOP SECRET Summer Project for 2018 -- a matching paved road! The new concrete road is only 100 meters long due to obvious shipping issues, but it's still long enough to drive back and forth upon in plenty of Bitcoin Penny style! Grin

Regards,
Chris

Shipping a road, can't wait to see this one.

The problem isn't shipping the road, it's finding the 20m x 20m postage stamp.

Regards,
Me

I have my doubts, but dammit i hope this is real hahahaha

The antiqued copper finish is a high quality powder coat onto the cast iron manhole cover. Here's a quick indoor photo of the unassembled reverse side. (Outdoor photos in direct sunlight show the antiqued copper finish much better, IMO.)

Dat ass  Shocked Shocked  Could easily bounce a quarter BPenny right off of her.

Damn!   That is a beauty!

IS that pure copper or just the coating?

If it is a coating, does it also cover the reverse side? Can we see a photo of that side too please?

Thanks bro!

Once assembled, the smooth copper backplate will be hand-stamped with PROTO, much like how our factory seconds are stamped FS1, FS2, and FS3. (The PROTO will not be assembled until it's sold, since we don't know yet if it will require a privkey, funding, etc.)

is this loaded? is this the same weight as the other ones you were selling bud?

Only the actual Limited Edition Manhole Covers (Nos.1-10) are pre-loaded with .01 BTC. However, I am happy to pre-load the PROTO upon request.

It'll blend into the BP paved roads a bit.  Perhaps if there were a good contrasting release with which to pave.  Tongue
