Im just curious, but how did you plan on selling these here before you knew about the escrow?

cool. my son's bday today and in a zoom now, but I will look into. What protects the seller from a bad actor buyer if they were to claim the item was never received or whatever excuse? The funds would just remain in escrow? If so, it would seem like it protects the buyer but increases risk to a seller. But probably there are mechanisms for this? Surely there are - but that would be the thing I want to be sure of.

Hi, and welcome Smiley

As the seller, you can take photos of the items you are going to sell, to show the the buyer, and put all of the details in the escrow agreement.

You could easily take a few pics or a video with your phone, with a time stamp, like a newspaper or something with today date, maybe also the current Bitcoin block number etc, there are many creative ways you can work this out.

You can also video packing up the item and send all of this to the trusted escrow as evidence and proof you are sending what you are trying to sell.

When you ship your item you will 100% want tracking - as protection for both for you as the seller and the escrow and/or receiver to follow where the package is and to confirm it was received (and possibly signed for if you choose that option)

Alternatively you could ship your item to the trusted escrow who can inspect the item, as most of the trusted escrows on this forum have many years of expertise in inspecting and verifying high value items such as Bitbills and more. Then the trusted escrow can forward (ship) the item to the buyer and release funds to you upon confirmation of receipt.

All of the previous comments posted are valid as well, (take a pic with todays date and your screename) etc.

There are some very good trusted escrows here on the forum, and they can assist you much better than I.

Good luck, and I wish you a safe and prosperous transaction Smiley

Thanks!

Understood and it has been questioned before.  Those details would need to be worked out individually with the escrow I would imagine (I'm not an escrow so you would have to ask specifically to them).  Of all the years here I have yet to see a situation like this and things of much higher value have been transacted here smoothly.  I get your concern though.  Good luck with your sale either way!

And yes what krog said.  At that value in person is a good choice at a safe loaction.

The best way is to meet in person imo. Other than that its tracking as proof of delivery and make sure a reputable buyer is buying, the trust system feedback is a good indication of whom you are dealing with as well.

You also have some people who act as couriers here who can deliver it for you in person as well.

i am unfamiliar with the escrow feature of this site, but provided it checks out I am totally open to that. I understand everyone's interest in safety and am fine to support that. I personally want to be safe, as well.

I will take a picture and post with username etc later today.

Escrow is simple here.  We have some very reputable members here who offer escrow services.  It goes like this:

Buyer and seller agree to sale parameters
Buyer sends escrow full amount of agreed to price for sale and shipping
Escrow confirms receipt of funds to seller
Seller ships exact item agreed upon to sell
Buyer recieves item, inspects it and confirms receipt of agreed upon item to the escrow
Escrow releases funds to seller

This has been done here on site for probably millions of dollars worth of products very safely here if done correctly.

Would you be willing to use an escrow here on this site for the sale.  If not you won't get any interest.

Please message with offers. A friend gave me this years ago and I need some $$. I know these are super rare and collectible, so I would like to get something close to 2BTC, but am open to offers. I have photos I can email but I cannot figure out how to include on this post. This is my first post here.
