The MMO space is crowded with a lot of very similar games rehashing the same ideas over and over, most of them failing pretty badly. You need to present more info on what will set your game apart and make it attractive to players.

What is the setting of your game? What's unique about it? What are your plans for combat system, itemization, character progression, endgame content, player vs player, etc?

You'll need to present a lot more info about your game, your development team, etc.

I do have a couple of features which will make some difference.

New Expandable Floatable Islands for overcrowding, including the ability for guilds to purchase a whole island just for guild use.

Looking at allowing players to create Private Dungeons, which will be playable by others, with each play earning the owning player a certain entrance fee.

Do you have a formal resume with a list of references? I'd love to see your portfolio. Also who are your contacts within Steam? As a dev myself, what language will you be using and what's the scope of the MMO we're looking at? Do you have a team? What's your potential team or are you solo?

Thanks for your answers,

GT

I can provide a full list of games and companies I have worked for, a mobygames list as well. The Game Client would be written in C# as it will be using Unity. The Game Server is also C#.

Also if there are other developers out there who would be interested in helping, I will be opening up the github repo to investors if they are interested in helping.

Sandbox MMO's are gaining more and more attention recently and I'm loving it. Those terains are stunning and you certainly have a good chance to succeed if you create a visually impressive MMO with some good playier interactions.

There is some competition in the genre but people are looking forward for new talented developers. I can give you some examples: DayZ is a good one. Also this new game called "Life is Feudal: Your Own" Just launched maybe a week ago. It's currently on alpha testing early access pourchase and is already receiving love.

Just asking to see if there is general interest, I a Games developer with over 25 years experience. I've worked on many AAA titles for most of the large publishers.

I'm looking at licensing a very nice Marching Cubes based engine which would allow me to develop a nice looking Sandbox MMO.

Links to a couple of the videos of the engine.

Anyone who is interested would become a partner and would share in all revenues after costs. Not sure on what % is up for investment yet, this all depends on if there is interest or not.

I would aim to have the first Alpha of the game on Steam Early Access within 3 months. I have the contacts at steam to get in without having to go through the green light process. I could also consider once we have a good working build do a Kickstarter for the game, this would happen before the Early Access and provide more development funds for the Game.

What is needed for funding is basically $$$. Would need to Cover the costs of the engine, Costs of Art (but a lot can be purchased on the Unity Asset Store) and some development costs to cover my living expenses.

The Game is to be developed in Unity, The network engine it will be using is from Exit Games.

Game revenue will come from initially Early Access fees, there will be a 3 tiered Founders Pack system. As the game develops it will move into a F2P system. Where certain aspects of the game will be locked unless you pay a small monthly fee (ie, auction house, the ability to purchase land etc).

Also the I will be looking at supporting Bitcoin as a currency inside of the game.

If people need more information about myself I can provide it.

Thanks

Phil
