590s are power hungry GPUS for mining that's why many don't buy them for this purpose, most buy them for PC gaming and video editing stuffs, I bought one year ago thinking I can find a sweet spot to limit the power draw but my watt o meter shows 140 watt from the wall..don't believe what your mining software shows you

After that, the opponent is usually asked to find 5 differences.
Radeon RX 590 8gb is the same Radeon RX 580 8gb, only its video chip is made using 12 nm technology.
Therefore, it became possible to slightly increase the frequencies.
The power consumption during mining for these video cards is almost the same: 100-110 watts from the wall.

When i bought my 590, i tried it out without any undervolt/OC and the consumption was at around 170-180W. After the modifications it went down to 90-95 according to HWINFO.

In your case your processor and the other IO devices could consume the remaining wattage if you ask me.
I bet that's fake, you need to measure the exact power draw from wall and minus the CPU power/motherboard, that rx590 is a electricity monster lol 🤣 get a watt meter readings first

Hi nickxab!

Can you please send your settings of 32mhs at 95W?

Sure Grin

There you go.

For some reason img bb code doesn't work. Undecided

These settings are for 31.5 MH/s @93W.
Also it's important to state that i don't connect my monitor on the RX590, I use the APU for all the rest.  Grin
It is not 93Watts. Real power will be 130-140Watts is yours.

OK so here we go... xD
I dumped my GPU's BIOS using trixx/gpu-z and i patched it with PBE using the one click patch button.
Then i flashed it using ATI flash program.
I restarted my pc and boom....radeon adrenalin couldn't recognize my GPU.
So i flashed back the stock BIOS and started to experiment on the software settings.

Here some results:

1) Default BIOS settings.
26-27MH/s @152W

2)Memory clock to 2240
30-31 MH/s @158W

3) Under clocked GPU, under volt GPU, overclocked memory clock to 2230 and under volt memory clock.
29-30 MH/s @90W

It's my first time overclocking a GPU so for sure there are better settings.

PS: I don't know why photos appear only as link.... Huh

EDIT: Even some more fine tuning gave me 31.996MH/s @95W

You need to undervolt the GPU. On windows you can follow the guide at http://mining.help For Linux you can checkout https://simplemining.net

Hello folks ! I follow and read topics from this forum for long time but i just created an account. xD
I was mining bitcoins in the past but i quit for multiple reasons, noways my outdated antminer S1s can't mine bitcoins and the prices for new hardware are astronomical so i started to search for alt coins.
I get into Ethereum mining 2 weeks ago. I set up quickly my one and only GPU (for now) to mine ethereum.
My GPU is the Sapphire Radeon RX 590 8gb nitro+ SE. With stock BIOS settings it mine at 26-27 MH/s.
If i change the VRAM clock settings from 2100 MHz (stock) to 2230 MHz it gives me 30-31 MH/s, not bad but here come's my main problem. The consumption, it draws 160W (the card alone), i have seen people with RX 580 running it around 90W and i don't think that RX 590 has such a big difference in consumption against RX 580 Roll Eyes
So what i'm doing wrong here ?  Huh Huh
What do i miss ? xD
Here is a screenshot from gpu-z (don't mind the 2230 mhz clock, it's because i took the screenshot while it's mining.)
