It seems like alot of the posts i'm seeing are undervolt modding their nitro+ to get down to 77-80w per card.

the main problem it is undervolt: cause card use for voltage max value between gpu/memory volt, then default memory it is 1000, also if you can run at 920 with gpu it will override again to 1000. go over 950 with memory so much issue.
Atm only saphire trixx software can drop gpu voltage and not affect memory voltage instead claymore/amd setting can't do it.

I'm building my first mining rig and purchased 6 of the rx480 Nitro(non+) cards but i'm having a hard time finding modded bios for it. Every one I come across is for the  + version. this is for the 8GB cards btw. Can anyone point me to any stable bios' for this particular version?

If they are the 8GB with Micron Memory I managed to get 29.xxmhs by copying the 1750 straps to 2000.

I had the same problem. Its actually really easy to do yourself. Figure out what kind of memory your cards have. Download polaris bios editor, (if its micron memory you need sa special fork of polaris). download atiflash. With one gpu connected run atiflash as administrator, then click save, to save the current bios of your card. Open polaris and load the bios you just saved. Copy the characters in the 1500 section of memory on the right and past them in the higher numbered slots. save. Now open atiflah, load the new bios you just made and click program. It takes a minute.

Try your card with claymore or something. Some cards dont run well using the 1500 memory timings so you may have to go back and modify the original bios again. Try copying the 1600 or 1700 timins to the higher numbers until you get something stable that works.

DO YOUR OWN RESEARCH AS WELL THIS IS JUST GENERAL INFO. I TAKE NO RESPONSIBILITY IF GPUS GET BRICKED.
