The intial blocks(not the genesis) mined mostly by Satoshis and Pre historic miners still remain untouched on the blockchain, the day it moves, meaning somebody's trying to do a transaction would set off panic alarms, coz if those coins are sold, it would be one Mega dump.
CNC, FTC guys mined at insanely low diificulty @ release, sold those coins for BTC : Timespan of around 1 month.
Moving those initial BTC's could be considered an equivalent dump, but in a longer Timespan of years.

Maybe somebody should write a script to alert of any movement. just kidding.

I also found a bunch of satoshi's posts in the staff thread.

I should check with theymos if it is alright for me to write an article with some of his posts.

Should be ok. His posts are in public domain.

Staff area seems to be restricted..

We should have a gentleman's agreement to postpone the GPU arms race as long as we can for the good of the network.  It's much easer to get new users up to speed if they don't have to worry about GPU drivers and compatibility.  It's nice how anyone with just a CPU can compete fairly equally right now.

Din't have to worry about ASICS did he, Lucky lad  Grin

Also you could pre-seed the blocks so they won't have to be downloaded upon initial run. (Downloading 28,000 blocks on a slower ADSL takes forever I couldn't imagine how long it would take when there are millions of blocks -- a lifetime).
Answer:
There were some issues in 0.1.5 where the initial block download could get bogged down.  0.2 has code to make sure it goes smoothly.  It ought to take less than an hour, I think.  I need to hurry up and get 0.2 out the door.

The blocks increase linearly, it'll be decades before it's millions.  In theory, the block download time should top out 8 months from now when Moore's Law will be growing faster than the block chain.

Damn man, this wasn't supposed to go out of hand. Look where; we are at.  Embarrassed
We definitely took him more seriously than he did  Grin

It would have been nice to get this attention in any other context.  WikiLeaks has kicked the hornet's nest, and the swarm is headed towards us.
My inference: Swarm=US Govt. He definitely thought Govt regulation was coming.   Sad
Maybe thats where the end is.
I'm still hopeful, like alcohol they just tax it, rather than Ban it. Fiat to USD regulation is easy; think i read Gox stopped Gox codes coz of that.
Bloody weed on SR, who cares. Well in the end laundering and funding in grey and black areas might attract a critical mass of attention>> Hornets Nest> Stung on the Ass.  Shocked

Just for the lulz.
