The name Satoshi is a common name in Japan so others might think that Satoshi is indeed a Japanese. Nonetheless, no one really knows who Satoshi is and the wide acceptance of bitcoin in Japan has nothing to do with Satoshi. Japan is smart enough to identify the potential of bitcoin and that is the major reason why did they sccept bitcoin in the first place.

No one knows if Satoshi Nakamoto exists or not, could even be a group of people. It´s like Homer(not the Simpsons character but the Iliad and The Odyssey author), that it´s not very clear if he really existed. For Bitcoin this has been good, the lack of a visible leader has helped to spread the ideal of decentralization.

All these stories about the mythical Satoshi reminds me episode from the well known Xfiles TV series. I believe that if ever done any statistical text analysis, it will be one of the words with the most high frequency after 'bitcoin' and 'blockchain'.

There is zero proof that Satoshi is from Japan.... He might have been working from the US or the UK as someone has said, but location is not

validated by his or her sleeping patterns. Satoshi deliberately did things to hide his/her identity and if this was a collaborative approach by a

group of people... then they could have been posting from all over the world. I can take the name of any Anime character and you might think I

am from Asian origin.  Grin

Satoshi is allegedly from the US if he has normal sleeping patterns, assuming that he was sleeping in the hours that he didn't post.

He also allegedly had ties to the UK as he typically spoke in British English (spellings like "colour", etc).

This thread is basically just here for people to make irritating generalisations about Japanese people now.  I suggest you lock it.

Japanese are known to be good in business and I don't think they will go for something based on unconfirmed information. I must say that they got into Bitcoin because they see a massive opportunity here which many nations until now are still reluctant to explore. Maybe Japan wants to be a leader in cryptocurrency and thanks to them we just saw a great expansion of Bitcoin which hopefully push many investors to buy more Bitcoin.

Is no one finding this kind of interesting, that Satoshi was allegedly was from Japan, that Japan has suddenly adopted Bitcoin, and now their airlines to will adopt. Could it be that Satoshi is some way effecting this, or that he is indeed alive out there. This just can't be a coincidence that the country where he is supposed to belong has taken such big initiatives, I just have feeling what if satoshi is indeed there and he's the one who's playing the rules, maybe it's just a passing thoght and not many will see eye to it, but give it some time i think it's something we all need to think on.
All this is what I referred to as conspiracy theory in my own way because its just basically picking of dots and trying to link it together whether Satoshi is from Japan or China, any country that will adopt bitcoin will adopt it. It high time we start believing that bitcoin has grown beyond the name of the founder and the adoption is basically on the advantages it offers and nothing related to the founder.

Satoshi was never allegedly from Japan, it is just a name that was chosen by the creator of bitcoin to remain anonymous.
Japan didn't really "suddenly" adopt bitcoin, it happened after 8 years!
and their airlines are accepting bitcoin like many other businesses because bitcoin is a legal way of payment and there is a demand for it there.

which is why i say you are overthinking it Smiley
