I remember the question as well about having freshly mined Bitcoin if they're going to be sold at a premium rate. But I think if it's proven to be satoshi's then for sure that there will be a lot of folks waiting in line and will pay a premium with that knowing that it is from satoshi. Will satoshi like it to be sold at a premium rate? maybe, or simply wouldn't care at all.

If satoshi decides to sell his coins OTC to someone giving him his private keys will those coins have a premium ?

The private keys can hold a premium.
For certain collectors those old coins can also worth a premium.

However, I think that if Satoshi could have done that (person alive and private keys not lost) and would have been wanting to do that (I hope that Satoshi is well and just bought or mined coins after he disappeared, hence he's rich anyway) would have done it. So the question doesn't have mush substance imho.

This topic reminds me an article from the past,
https://bitslog.com/2013/04/17/the-well-deserved-fortune-of-satoshi-nakamoto/

The writer wrote that there was only 1 machine/device mined Block 0 to 36288 = 1814400 BTC and only 665600 BTC has been spent.
There will be too many if any Bitcoins owned by Satoshi considered as a Premium BTC.
But I think maybe we all can agree if the BTC in the genesis address 1A1zP1eP5QGefi2DMPTfTL5SLmv7DivfNa considered as a Premium BTC.

Nah,

We have had old Satoshi era addresses waking up and transferring their coins, some probably to exchanges no one has talked about or cited any premium attachment to those joins. Bitcoin mined in 2010 is the same as bitcoin mined in 2024 in price. The market dictated the price.

The only people I see going crazy over these are the ordinals' brigade because they know they will sell hot air to the noobs for abnormal profits.

It's a moot question, but if Satoshi did want to sell his coins or even just the private keys I think they would sell at a premium. I'm sure Craig Wright would love to get his hands on them as that would go a long way to furthering his scam if he could sign a message or send funds from one of them.

Maybe the only thing that can make it premium is the key because it can be used for sig messages, but even though it is premium, the wallet key still cannot be resold to someone, because it is impossible for us to buy a wallet whose key is already known to someone else. Apart from that, we also cannot exhibit anything except the claim of ownership of Satoshi's wallet with a sig message, the rest is no longer there because unlike a painting which can be displayed and enjoyed for its artistic value, we cannot possibly display the key in a gallery or museum.  Cheesy

Nothing like that will happen and if it happens that way, there will be no premium attached, all they will do is to sell at the current market rate, but who is going to be the buyer in this and how can he be able to afford buying everything at the same time, lastly, why do you think Satoshi held down those coins to himself, do you think he will want to sell now, or probably leave them as a family wealth for his generation.

Of course not. Bitcoin cannot be specifically identified like fiat money which has a serial number on each piece of paper. Maybe if you have fiat money that has a Uniq serial number it could be sold for more money, or maybe fiat money that has a special history. However, bitcoin is not like that, as far as I know, bitcoin is the same from one another so it cannot be specifically identified and given a special price

I don't think there will be any premium attached to it as long as I know because the value is just the same as other bitcoins that are being held in other wallets.

The only place where I can see them attaching some premium value to it is if those coins, in one way or another, will be converted to NFT, which they can classify as a one-of-a-kind bitcoin as it's part of bitcoin creators holdings, which also looks like a deceiving full means of attaching value where it's supposed to be.
